Horrendous Management

Sorry this is gonna be a long one, but hopefully useful. AMLI lures you in with promises and pleasant personnel in the leasing office. Then they turn you over to the laziest, most incompetent management staff I have ever witnessed. I do like our apartment and the noise level is very good. I also like the fact that there is a decent fitness room available and multiple pools. Sounds good, right' Well, just wait until you realize the ineptness of AMLI management. When we moved into our apartment it was filthy. Management agreed to have it cleaned. They didn't. We had to ask again and make a list of problems for them to clean/fix. They completed about half of the tasks on the list and we never heard from them again. The first time I went to use the fitness room, there were about 4 working lights (out of nearly 20) and 2 inches of dust on the overhang below the 2nd level cardio machines. The room remained this way for about 8 months. Then the limited access gates broke. They have not worked since September 2004. Management then sent out a communication to the complex reminding us that they are not responsible for break-ins to cars. Ironic. Apparently the management can't find a company to keep them in working order. I have seen plenty of other communities in Denver with working gates. Maybe AMLI should find out who does their maintenance. You may notice that they still promote themselves as a controlled access community. One of our pools just opened last weekend (today is July 7,2005). The fountain at the one that is open hasn't worked for 3 weeks. When asked why, management just responded with "Hmm, I don't know." Oh, and if you do have a problem and need to speak to management, good luck. If you have a job, you'll have to slate a time on the weekends to talk to an assistant because office hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (they leave at 6:00 on the dot, no exceptions). Most people I know work during that time and can't get home by 6:00 PM. One final thing to note is that while the leasing office will sell you on all the great amenities and programs offered, there is no sense of community whatever at AMLI. Mostly to blame is the unresponsive, hopeless management. We were promised cooking, yoga, and pilates classes, community BBQ's, and other assorted events. There have been no cooking classes, yoga and pilates are regularly cancelled and the other events are either cancelled or participation is so low it isn't worth going. This is because management has so little energy or ability to coordinate and organize anything. The community is aware of this lack of effort and that is why they fail to show up. They have completely discouraged any possible instructors to schedule classes at AMLI because they know that no one will show up for their classes or events. Bottom line - terrible management = terrible apartment complex.
