an example of everything wrong with large management companies

When my wife and I came to look at the property we were taken in by the great floor plans. We ignored the negative reviews and decided that it couldn??t be that bad.

We were horribly wrong. No floor plan makes up the negatives of living here.

The management issues are the key items that permeate the rest of the community. From broken appliances that take a long time to repair, maintenance crews that break the walls while in your apartment and then don??t fix them, and office representatives that make utility companies look customer service oriented, there are the gamut of problems that make living here nearly unbearable.

An example: our oven/stove stopped working several months ago. The management office was flippant with our pleas to fix our oven/stove. I have medical issues that require a special diet, so eating out is not cheap, the repeatedly told us it would be fixed, and it didn??t happen, they also would not call back when they promised. After a week of this, they finally replaced the appliance, with a promise that they would refund us the rent for the days they did not get it fixed which added up to a substantial amount of money, but not enough to cover the actual cost of eating out for a week (this is not an altruistic act on their part, Colorado law gives a landlord 48hours to fix things like this before the tenant can seek compensation). They promised that they would subtract the money they owed us from our next rent deduction, and did not. When I confronted them about this, and they failed to return calls for several days, they promised us they would fix it the next month, but only after I had to threaten to sue them. The next month came and again they took the money they were not supposed to out of our account. They also have up to this point refused to write us a check directly for the money they owe us, and continue to take from us, telling us we should trust them to do the right thing?? again.

This does not mention the fact there is trash all over the place, and I mean rotting trash that the management company does nothing about. There is nothing quite like coming home to the smell of rotting trash in your breezeway day after day. We have a garage luckily or parking would be a nightmare. Most of the time our guests cannot find a place to park.

Like I said at the beginning of this review, we read the negative reviews and figured it would be worth taking the risk, I sincerely hope that others do not make the same mistake. Not only do they fail to make repairs in a timely and professional manner (I only used one of several examples with the oven/stove situation), but they cannot be trusted with tenant money, which says more than anything. I hope that readers take this, and the other reviews into account when they consider living in this community, its not worth it, its really not.
