I was at AMLI for two years and it was overall a positive experience. I agree they are not the luxury apartments touted on their website with cheap blinds, fixtures, etc., but the rent was okay with a student discount considering my kitchen was pretty big and I had a w/d. It was clean when I moved in with steamed/shampooed carpets and the walls were touched up, not painted completely. My one problem was with the AC which leaked on and off the last several months I was there. After the first month I resigned myself to taping tupperware to my bathroom mirror for the remainder of my stay since it wasn t fixed after three visits from maintenance. As for safety (I m a twenty-something female), I never felt threatened but still felt good having several military guys in my building, however, I wouldn t recommend getting a 1st floor apartment given there are no security gates so virtually anyone can wander onto the property. I didn t have a problem with noise having only called an after-hours number once to complain, but perhaps I lucked out with good neighbors and a corner apartment. I did receive my security deposit maybe two weeks after I moved. I would suggest speaking with someone in the leasing office about picking a building with lots of unreserved spaces since people can take your carport without being ticketed and park in front of your garage, blocking you in. Read these accounts, but don t let them scare you off. Another apartment I was at got above average marks and I ended up threatening them with legal action.
