I have lived in The Manhattan for several years because I do not like to move, but who does' I have never written a review for an apartment building, but before I depart The Manhattan, I want to warn don't make the mistake I did and overpay for a less than adequate apartment for the price. Now that I am apartment hunting, I am finding the Manhattan is 150% the price of a similar space with similar ammenities. If you are attracted to the city view pool, let me say the pool is overcrowded and construction is beginning on the city side, which will block the view. Groceries are difficult to bring up to the apartment, and storage is minimal.

One other warning, both my girlfriend and I have been robbed at gun point on separate occasions in the neighborhood within the past year. For whatever reason, crime is on the rise in the neighborhood.

Good luck in your apartment search.

Really...??? Robbed at gun point. Come on. That can happen to you anywhere! And if you were that worried, you would have moved away after it happened to you the first time. Sounds to me that you are bitter to leave. I live in the Manhattan and feel that is managed very well. The office staff is absolutely one of the best around. The area is great and very people friendly. I wouldn't choose another place to live!

Yes, at gunpoint. If you live here, do you remember the front window being shot out recently? Or how about the bum who lived in the stairwell and the other bum living in the show apartment? If you don't remember these happening, you surely don't remember the call service and the cocaine dealers on the first floor. I had a $1500 bike stolen out of the garage I was told was safe to store bikes in. That's not including the not so scary, but just disgusting happen-stances such as the 5hr sex show in the hot tub for all to see? But, hey "this can happen anywhere," really? All in one building? Surely, you cannot be ignorant of these things. Why overpay to live here? Seems to me if you are not looking to move, maybe you're a building manager trying to fill all of the vacancies here? Why else would you be on this site?
