note, residence here was 6 months during the warm weather of 2007.

besides some nasty things happening that shouldn't have, like our car being towed because of lot paving confusion (one day you couldn't park in this lot, next day you couldn't park in the other and notice was very limited) and a roommate almost spraining her ankle in an uncovered hole in the yard, i generally didn't like my experience there.

while the girls may have been courteous, i never felt like i was getting any service. i paid, but all i got was a place to sleep.

maintenance guys were decent people, but they had lousy materials to work with and if you called the office to request a repair, they seemed only to inform maintenance if they were in the office when they got the call - they never wrote it down. so the fastest way to get a repair is to sit outside their building waiting for someone to show up.

otherwise, our experience there was good. nothing outstandingly good happened in my opinion, but one of my roommates really seemed to think the girls in the office were great, so maybe they warm up to different people.

it was relatively clean, though, like everywhere, dog clean-up wasn't enforced. they offered wireless internet in their building.

but they promised online rent payment for six months without it being available, which i think says a lot about management's style. they Want to do better, but they don't really try.

we didn't get fined when we moved out, but we didn't get a refund either (even though everything was in its original condition: i touchede up paint, cleaned all surfaces, cleaned carpets... i even kept all the blacktop from their lot resurfacing from showing on the carpet at the entryway.)

i think montair is average. i don't feel like it was the worst we could have done and we lucked out with quiet neighbors, but there was nothing to make me feel at home and the negatives outweighed the positives because all the good was what you would expect anywhere.

on the up side, i believe most apartments have management posts anymore, but montair's doesn't, so that's something.
