I'm a former resident and after moving out, I left messages with theif office and spoke to Nick Costanzo about getting a statement of deposit. Instead of ever sending (or even faxing) me one, they sent a collection agent after me for money I did not lawfully owe them. There are too many awesome apartments in Denver to rent at a place that breaks the law and treats their tenants poorly.

As another prior resident of this apartment complex, I had the same issue. My other problem was that they have agreements with contractors to perform any maintenance issues once the tenants move out. I.e; replacing carpeting, electrical, carpenter, etc., I found three estimates that were ALL three hundred dollars or MORE than the price they charged me for the carpet replacement, but because of these agreements, they refused to use another vendor that would have saved me at least $300. Beware of this apartment complex - they kill you on the move-out/deposit process.

We moved out of Uptown Square earlier this year after 2 years of wear and tear on our place. We had a dog, and therefore the carpet was a mess, but we were only charged a small fee for carpet cleaning and received a notice within 2 weeks of move-out. If I owned an apartment, I wouldn't let any Joe discount carpet dude off the street fix up the apartments- you'd be sure that I'd have a regular vendor I used who I knew did good work! Some of the comments here are seriously comical. We had a really normal apartment experience with Uptown Square. From reading this site, I was afraid we wouldn't get our deposit back, so was surprised that they seemed really fair in our situation.
