i am actually a current resident. there is a person who lives in my building who has been stalking me and my little sister. we woke up to him ON OUR PORCH the other day!!!! this is a very scary situation, and the managment does not seem to care at all! they told me that i would have to pay $1700 to break my lease!!! i have to pay to get out of a place that is housing a person who is litteraly stalking me' this man is VERY DANGEROUS. i would not tell anyone to live here. they tell you that they are there to help, but my screen door has been broken since i moved in, my bathroom door does not close, my disposal does not work, peoples cars get broken into ALL THE TIME, not to mention, when i went to the office to tell them about the man who has been harrassing us, the MANAGER looked at me like i was crazy. she did not show any sort of sympathy for my situation, and she seemed like she didnt care whatsoever. they offered to let me move to a different apartment in the building, but this building has 100 units!! you dont think that the man who has been watching us would figure out where we went''' needless to say, i am moving out, but because of their TERRIBLE customer service, i will be paying for my remaing 2 months. 2 months left on my lease, and they will not let me leave...isnt that a -----' i could not believe how they handled this situation. it is truly mindblowing. and i thought that they were so nice when i moved in...wasnt i a fool for thinking someone would care when they have a stalker living in their building. i have contacted the police regarding this matter, and a restraing order has been filed. tell your friends. DONT LIVE AT PRESCOTT

I am an accredited residential manager and have managed Prescott Apartment Homes for over five years. I continue to honor all federal Fair Housing laws and guidelines. As the manager of the property, I met with the resident and at that time she informed me that she had just returned from a trip to Europe. Her sister, now roommate, has been living in her apartment for over 2 months. The resident informs me that a male resident has been harassing the roommate/sister and that she plans to file for a restraining order. I asked for the residents?? name and apartment number that was causing the problem. They did not know his name or apartment number. They did give a brief description and where he resides in the building. The resident requested to be let out of her lease. My understanding was that the roommate/sister had the issue not the resident, because she had just returned from Europe. The accusation is that a male resident had gone to the apartment and pounded on the door, punched a hole in the wall, stood on the patio and was placing harassing phone calls. I asked for the roommate/sister to provide our office with a copy of the restraining order. I also informed the resident that I would get back to her regarding her request to be let out of her lease. As the manager it is my responsibility to investigate all accusations/claims. It is not my responsibility to mediate in legal matters. This was a very serious accusation against one of my residents and a matter to be handled by the police. Our maintenance supervisor and myself walked the halls and there were no holes in the walls. To date, I do not have a copy of the restraining order so I have no way to know who is being accused. It is an unfortunate situation and I would never want a resident to be scared while living here. At the same time I cannot let people out of their leases just because they claim to have an issue. I require some documentation, some type of evidence that this situation actually exists. The roommate over the past 2 months has never filed a complaint with the office regarding any negative resident interactions. I pulled the residents?? file to document the issues and discover there is no roommate listed on her lease. The problem becomes larger as now there are several lease violations. The resident has violated her lease by having a roommate move in without notifying the leasing office. Anyone 18 or older must be listed on our lease and must agree to have a credit and criminal check. Not only is this a lease violation but also a Fair Housing issue as all residents must submit to a credit and criminal checks. This new roommate also brought with her two dogs, so the pet deposit of $600. and monthly pet rent of $40. has not been paid; which is required of other pet owners at our property. Unfortunately, at that point, I had to notify the resident that the current roommate and her pets had to vacate the premises immediately, as she was not on the lease. I was happy to have our actual resident transfer to a one-bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor to finish out the 3 months that remain on her lease so she would not have to break her lease. Without legal documentation, no name, no apartment number there was little I could do to assist the resident. I hope these two women are safe, happy in their new residence, and that they read their new lease thoroughly. In her complaint about Prescott, she states there are unresolved work orders. The office has no outstanding work orders for her apartment. In the past I have found that residents that violate their leases rarely call in work orders. This resident had herself, a roommate, two dogs, and one cat in a 460 sq. ft. studio apartment. This was a losing situation for all parties involved. There is a resident that did not read their lease, another resident, accused of harassing behavior and I still do not know their identity. There is the management company caught in the middle. We are blamed for not being able to give a resident exactly what they want even though they signed a legally binding contract.

To whom it may concern, I will not be renewing my lease here at the Prescott Apartments. Please consider this my written notice to vacate my unit #D102, when my lease is up, October 16th, 2009. I also wanted to make you aware that I have a few issues in my apartment that still have not been resolved. My garbage disposal still does not work. I called, and left 2 messages a LONG while ago about this, but no one ever came to fix it. Also, my screen door is still broken. I was told that it would not be fixed until 3 or 4 other people also needed screen doors. This has been broken since I moved in. I am making arrangements to move out as soon as possible. I do not feel safe in this building, due to the man who has been harassing me and my VISITING guest, and will be leaving just as soon as I find another place. I will pay out my lease as agreed. I also wanted to make you aware, that I am less than impressed with the customer service. I have worked in customer service for years, and I know how people like to be treated, and ill tell you what, this is NOT it. I was very concerned about staying at the apartment after I woke up with a man on my porch. ON MY PORCH. And when I told the manager about the situation, she seemed less than concerned. This is a very serious situation, and I did not feel like my safety was being taken into consideration. As a woman, I would expect her to understand where I??m coming from, but instead, she scolded me for having a visitor, and all I was offered was a change of apartments. Why would I move to a new apartment, in the same building as a predator? Not only would I then move two times in 2 months, but it would not solve my problem at all. My expectations were high, and I was let down. I was not even addressed about this situation over the phone??there was a note left on my door. When something this serious happens, you would think that someone would, at the very least, call. You will not be getting a 5 star rating from this renter.

This review showed up in my Spam folder and I came across it on a fluke. I was actually cleaning out the folder for a change. It caught my attention because I am moving into Prescott Apts for a second time. I lived there for two years and am now moving back this month after living elsewhere for over a year. The manager at Prescott has always been more than fair in all my dealings with her. I do know she follows rules and policies and expects the residents to as well. Overall the community is very well maintained. I do know of residents who were disruptive not being allowed to renew their leases or even being evicted. I had no problem with this because it kept the place quiet and pleasant. There are residents there who have been there for years and years.
