Disgraceful and biased

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I moved into my apartment Dec 26 2004. There was no mirror above the vanity in the master bedroom which was reported upon move in. I was told that one would be installed within days. Days really meant months, as it was March before one finally appeared. I even offered to buy one, install it myself, and deduct it from my rent! No compensation or even an apology was offered. The sliding glass door NEVER locked, and was reported, but nothing was ever done about that either. So I lived in fear for 11 months, for someone to just walk in and have their way with me or my possesions. Unaccecptalble. On April 10, we received a heavy, wet, springtime snowstorm, beginning before dawn. I had visitors that arrived at 10 AM. The snowfall had stopped for several hours by then, however, their footprints were the first on the sidewalk and my stairs leading to the apartment At least 4 inches had piled up on each step.We visited for awhile before leaving for our planned outing. The time was 1 o'clock. Upon leaving. to my astonishment, the stairway and sidewalk were stll piled with snow, my guests footprints stll the only marks on each step, and turning to ice. I got to the second step, my foot slid right off of it, and fell the entire way down landing flat on my back on the sidewalk below. At 1.10 a call was made to the office to report the incident. Nobody answered, so a message was left. I finally received a callback at 430, in which I was told.....Well, we had the complex swept. I had my friend take pictures of 3 different stairways THE NEXT DaY, and yes, they were spotless, but the snow was still on my stairway over 24 hours later....even after my report. I went to the Dr, had 3 different prescriptions, missed work, sent pictures of my injuries, completed their Incident Report, and to this day haven't received any reimbursement or even an apology. I have no doubt they swept that day, however, they did not do MY stairway. Their resolution is to ignore. After the bruises and muscle strains went away, my back is still jacked. I have pain moving my head up, down, sideways, cannot lift anything over 10 pounds, and worst of all, my left hand goes numb off and on all day. I exhausted all of my paid time off at work, but still had to take offwork unpaid due to the pain in my back which aggravates migraines. It is an absolute nightmare.I was sick in bed because of this fall at the beginning of September, and had a friend drop off my rent check at 900 the morning of the 4th. He was turned away by the office staff because I was 30 minutes late. Not only that, I was told that now they wouldn't take my check. It had to be a money order, within 3 days or I'd have to get out, and lets not forget the fifty dollar charge plus five dollars per day. I had never been even 30 SECONDS late, nor had they ever received an NSF check from me. It was a Saturday, and Monday was Labor Day, so that left me to take off more work Tuesday to run around collecting their fees. Way to take care of your good residents! They were absolutely inflexible. It became clear to me the way they make money.......promote turnover.Another story.....my exhusband was replacing my car brakes and Claire walks by and begins some conversation.....she's wearing a midriff baring blouse and low cut pants. A bit of flirting begins and she tells my exhusband that.....well...it will be okay to bend the rules this time, and he can continue to work on my car. What she didn't know was that he was playing HER, and quite easily too. I guess it depends on what kind of pants you wear whether the rules apply or not.And another story.......For October, my income was legitimately short and I'd already written the rent check. The unpaid time off was catching up with me, and I still hadn't received a dime for the injuries sustained in April. I really needed that, it was getting critical. My rent check bounced on the 6th. I waited and waited for notification from Quail Ridge. Day by day went by....nothing. Finally, on the 15th, I took it upon myself to deliver their Money Order, plus fees, to the office. I asked why I haven't been notified, being the 15th and all, because every day that passes is another fee! I was told that their banking was in California and they have no way of knowing. Yeah, that sounds reasonable, They didn't charge me the daily fee but I have to wonder what the outcome would have been if I'd said nothong.....Bottom line, people, put your money somewhere else. If you bring anything to these peoples attention, you will get the cookie cutter response......we here at Quail Ridge put our residents safety, etc, at the highest priority, blah, bah, blah...they pass blame, shirk responsibility, make excuses, or most likely, ignore. I have more, but I think you get the picture. Rent at your own risk
