This place was hands down the WORST place I have ever lived in.
The crime rate was unbelievable,.
When I moved in, I was unpacking and a man approached me and told me I was not welcome in this neighborhood due to the fact I had white skin.
This was the 1st of 365 to come.
My air conditioner leaked, I called to have it fixed, when I moved out a year later, It still had not been fixed.
We were promised new carpeting and fixtures when we moved in.
This was never done.
The second week I lived at sage brook, I was robbed while I was sleeping, Luckily, I was not harmed and only a guitar, sony playstation 2, and some DVDs were stolen - along with my keys that were on the table.
I had to call and practically beg maintainer to re-key my locks.
The third week I was here, the entire lower half of my license plates were cut off of my car for the new tags.
The hot water was shut off nearly every day at about 11am.
This was very frustrating for me, since I worked afternoons and would get ready at this time.
I repeatedly had to go to work without showering.
My sick frequently backed up and spewed onto the floor - which was not considered an emergency by sage brook and I frequently was forced to fix it myself.
Luckily this is a skill that I have picked up along the way.
The shower water pressure was absolutely horrible and weak at best.
The water never maintained a constant temperature and frequently (when the water was actually turned on in the buildings)was forced to take an alternating freezing cold to scolding hot shower.
I heard gun shots frequently, saw drug deals and was solicited multiple times.
Overheard a neighbor talking about a near fatal stabbing in another building at sage brook.
Met a woman that was raped on her way home from the parking lot.
The walls and ceilings were very thin, which makes it hard to sleep or relax when you are surrounded by partiers and crack addict that are constantly awake and pacing.
My bedroom screen was pulled half way off one night, an attempt to break in I believe and was never fixed as of my move out date.
Despite multiple requests to management to have it fixed.
I was on the "garden" level, and various people, in various stages of sobriety would knock on the screen door at all time of the night.
After the snowstorms, the parking lot and walkways were not shoveled for weeks.
My girlfriend actually got stuck in the parking lot in a 4 wheel drive explorer! During this time, the trash was not being emptied and spilled out into the parking lot.
This left a wonderful oder! Neighbors were constantly fighting and being evicted.
These are just the events that I can remember off the top of my head.
I luckily have been out of that place for nearly 8 months and am much happier.
I did not just have bad luck while I was here, I talked to some of the other "normal" neighbors when I could find them, and they all had similar or worse events happen to them.
But, hey - The rent was cheap!
