I have lived her for 13 months out of an 18 month lease and the majority of the time have been miserable. When I signed the lease they promised me a garage but didn't warn me it was going to be approx 250 yards from my building. I had to call my attorney to get them to give me a different garage. Then upon move in I listed some fix-up items on the move in sheet and they never fixed them. I've called three times for different repairs and each time it has taken more than one phone call to get it accomplished. Several people in our building (#7) smoke and the apartment complex contacted us and told us all the cigarette butts outside the bottom floor patio were ours, we live on the third floor and the people on the first floor smoke. They told us to pick it up and if it happens again they'll fine us. They have called me on noise complaints when there is NO ONE HOME at my apartment and threatened to fine me. I have lived in 4 different apartment complexes in my life and previously have only had one complaint from neighbors, otherwise I've been a non-bothersome tenant. Also you have about 10 minutes of hot water before you run out, especially in winter. There are no heat vents in my living room and no phone jacks in the spare bedroom (I did not notice this until after I moved in b/c I assumed these things were standard!). The office management is incredibly rude and the leasing agents aren't much better with the exception of one or two - you'll know them right away. They made me increase my renter's insurance to $250,000 coverage in order for me to put my satellite dish on the back porch ON A TRI-POD! Not even attached to the porch! I would never recommend to anyone to move into this complex. No matter how enticing it seems - avoid it! Now that I've read this ratings website I'm going to get myself prepared for move out and the Carpet Replacement Battle. Wish me luck in 5 months!

Good luck with your carpet. I just moved out in November and I got charged $1,200.00 to replace the carpet and kitchen floor (which I never did a thing to). I would recommend to get the carpet professionally cleaned before turning the apartment over.

Good luck with everything. I moved out in July of 05 and was charged for everything from cleaning to carpet replacement. I'm in the industry myself so I am fully aware of how an apartment should be left. Please, please beware that carpet has a life span of 5 yrs, so they cannot charge you the full amount for the carpet unless it was brand new when you moved in. They tried getting my friend that lived there to pay to replace the carpet in her 2 bdrm when she moved. I told her about the 5yr thing and when she mentioned this to them her bill dropped from $1500 to $400. This is the WORST place I have ever lived and I always warn people to beware of any properties that are managed by Carmel, they are money hungry. And I totally agree the manager is a -----!

I'm currently taking them to court over a $1300 carpet replacement bill, with no proof that they DID replace the carpets, the invoice they sent us was for a different unit, and 6 months before we left . . .
