The Parc at Cherry Creek formerly Central Park Apartments

yuck.

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
I have lived at this complex since it was called Central Park Apartments and am ecstatic to be leaving. I really liked living here for the first couple years, but in the past six months this place has gone seriously downhill.
My apartment itself was great - clean, well maintained, anytime something needed to be fixed it was done so quickly and correctly. I never had an issue with parking - there were always spots and my car was never broken into or damaged. Big master bedroom, great closet, new carpet, wood burning fireplace. Just an overall nice place that I made home. Setting foot outside my home was where the problem was.
My problems with The Parc at Cherry Creek deal mostly with the quality of the grounds, the quality of the staff and most importantly the quality of the residents.
The grounds look like crap. They ripped out all the trees around the pool and clubhouse area and never replaced them with anything. It's been a year for those at the pool and a few months for the trees at the office. They have massive dirt areas where they didn't plant flowers in front of the office and never put flowers into the flower pots in the pool area. Instead of picking up garbage residents have left on the grounds they mow over it and spread it all over the grass. They repaved sections of the parking lot which made it look even worse when the heavy machine made asphalt tracks all over. The pool furniture (or lack thereof because when it breaks you don't get more) totally sucks. The chairs are cheap and the legs are bent on the tables, which lost their umbrellas.
The staff in the office are absolute idiots. From the manager all the way down to the girls at the desks. Sure, they are friendly enough, but never really have a good answer to any question. Reason why - because they are all new! The office has super high turnover. I used to know everyone's name when I first moved in - the only one that is still around is Akira (who by the way is the best one to talk to - she's legit). I don't know about you - but I don't trust anyplace with such high staff turnover!
Finally, the real reason why I can't stand living here anymore - the tenants. Granted I don't know absolutely every person living here, but after a few years at a place you get a feel for the type of people you live around. Don't bother asking the office people about it - fair housing law prevents them from talking about who lives here.
When I first moved in there were mostly career professionals and not too many kids. People were generally respectful of each other and noise was not an issue. Oh, how the times have changed.
To put it bluntly - this place has become super ghetto. Somehow, there are families living here with 3 children. How is this possible when the largest apartment is a 2 bedroom' Where are those kids sleeping' And sometimes there are mixed genders. I think that is illegal.
There are more tenants in their early 20's moving in (I'm in my late 20's for perspective) so expect to be woken up a half hour after the bars close. Expect drunk ranting and raving to occur outside your bedroom window on non-weekend nights. While this is definately the exception rather than the norm, it only takes a few nights a month of that b.s. to have it get really old.
The tenants are incredibly rude and socially inappropriate in the pool area. Even when children are around the language that comes out of their mouths is disgusting. Granted I love to say curse words, but there is a time and place for everything. Tenants are more frequently smoking, drinking and eating at the pool area and leaving their garbage there for days. I won't even go to the pool anymore because it's gross now.
The types of cars driven by the residents have shifted from well maintained, late model vehicles to total beaters. You can absolutely tell that the cars are owned by people who have a lack of respect for personal (let alone communal) property. Sometimes they are parked for over a month without moving. I know you're not supposed to judge a book by it's cover, but trust me, you can tell a lot about a person by the car they drive. Shout out to my favorite - the p.o.s. chevy pickup truck painted cherry red with an airbrushed aquarium scence on it. Not only is the back of it turned into a speaker system a 17 year old would drool over, but the owner loved to show off his hydraulics at hours well past midnight. Did I mention he named it "My Wet Dream." Awesome neighbor to have. Oh, he also owns a super sweet motorcycle that he revs up to park it 40 feet away in the garage - also at hours well past midnight. He has friends too. And neighbors just like him. Wanna live near him'
I chose this place because the surrounding places on Quebec and Evans were even worse and reminded me of low-income housing. Well, The Parc at Cherry Creek has joined those disgusting neighboring properties and have let in tenants with very questionable morals. Not to generalize and sterotype all low-income families have questionable morals - but do you fit into either category'
I know the people that write these ratings are usually disgruntled about something, although I can assure you I am not one of them. I'm pretty average, pretty boring. I'm educated, have a job, have a decent amount of friends, can be loud sometimes and like animals. Most people that have the internet and are reading this I assume are mostly like me. But people mostly like me do not fit in at this apartment complex anymore. Last year maybe, this year, no.
It's sad to see the place I loved to live become ghetto and uninhabitable for anyone with a sense of respect for themselves and for those that live around them. Trust me, you are much better off at another apartment. This place should not be your home.
