I moved from an Equity property to POST to get away from bad management. You can imagine my chagrin when I learned my awesome place had been bought by none-other than Equity.
Everything's gone downhill. Landscaping used to be immaculate, now there are dead plants everywhere. The utilities were switched to their company and now I'm paying at least $20 more a month on that. In addition, we should be able to pay utilities with rent but the utility bill NEVER comes in time to write one check (same prob had at previous equity property). Their phone lines have been down (not weather related), sound system in the fitness center has been down pretty much since they took over, fitness center equipment isn't maintained as it used to be (treadmills, etc go weeks without repair). And this is my favorite change: changes have been made to "base rent" and they did not issue any new leases or anything in writing specific to an apartment (at least not to mine) to explain what the "base rent" is. I'm guessing what I pay each month and lord knows if I'm over or not. I'm sure they'd let me know if I were under!
Luckily I only have a few more months left on my original Post lease and I can get the heck outta dodge.

If you didn't live here when it was owned by POST, than you have no idea what you are getting into. POST was great, which is why so many tenants are complaining with the new Equity Mangagement. I moved here because it was owned by POST. Equity, has driven this place into the ground. Believe me, the word is out, and they will not be renewing nearly the number of leases that POST did.

Not difficult to lease a place like Uptown Square up. Move out, and they'll have your apartment moved into by someone else within a few weeks. Not exactly heartbreaking.
