Uptown Square formerly Post Uptown Square
< | >
I was soooo sad to hear Post was gone and Equity was taking over. The new mgr, Amy SNOBgrass, is the most uneducated boob I have ever run into. Trash overflows in the courtyards and halls. You have to step over smelly dog feces and dried urine in the hall just to take your trash out, then deal with the ungodly smell in the trash chutes. There was a sexual assault right on the property and I do not feel safe walking into the parking garage now that they took out all the security lights and due to the fact that the doors are frequently broken. The landscaping, once stunning, must be last on their list of priorities. I mean, hell, Equity won't even put their name on the thing. I refuse to invite company over to my apartment anymore for fear they will be assaulted or that I will be embarrassed by the constant atmosphere of "parties 24/7". If it wouldn't cost me thousands of dollars, I would break my lease and run like hell. The clock is ticking to the moment I will be free.

I want to respond to this posting because I believe this is terrible. I am wondering if I were to go to your office and treat you this way, how this person would respond? I know that during all the snow storms, the maintenance staff worked around the clock so the residents here would have clean and safe walkways. I have a dog where I live and I am fully aware that I need to pick up after my dog NOT the staff. I do apologize if people do not understand that and frankly it is sad. Unfortunately there was an assult "OUTSIDE" of the gates and the staff made it well aware to all residents so they would be informed. I would like to know how Uptown Square is responsible for this happening and what steps did they not take for the best interest of the residents?

I agree...as you look at other reviews, this guy 'jackofalltrades2426' has a trite response on most of them. Obviously, this is a guy who is quite used to throwing a temper tantrum when he doesn't get his way. You know how several cell phone companies 'dropped' customers because they complain...this should happen to him.

yes, jackofalltrades2426 has made trite comments on many of the reviews; however, he does bring up some valid points. the doors to each building hardly ever work, the trash is an issue, and there is a consistent noise problem. i will agree with brandy that the staff worked during the storm to clear snow, but my car was stuck on the top level of the parking garage for days b/c of the snow. and while the staff did inform residents of the sexual assault they did not insure all of the controlled access doors would keep such predators out of the buildings. it is only a matter of time before an incident (besides breaking into cars) occurs in the property. maybe equity wouldn't have such bad reviews if it hired a staff that cared and did their jobs in a timely manner. while some of the staff does try, the majority are pricks who should be fired. i'm writing a formal complaint to the Equity corporate office regarding the staff and lack of concern/timely response for safety issues. I encourage other concerned residents to do the same.

I'm really not surprised by Brady7997 and the comment underneath by Anonymous, considering how Equity office staff have posted elsewhere on this site (Just the Place, I Heart Uptown Square). The staff at Uptown Square is friendly and helpful until you decide to sign your lease. Afterwards, they are nothing short of rude and incompetent. I wonder if either of the first 2 responders have had to go to the lengths other residents have needed to to get things done, like a 150 signature petition, calls to corporate offices and legal action? While jackofalltrades2426 might not make his point in a PC way, he is correct. I wonder how anyone else would respond to the way the office staff treats tenants.

I totally agree, while one could be nicer about HOW they criticize, the rebuttal to the criticism itself sounds suspiciously like an employee of Equity. Regarding security, and just what the management is supposed to do to prevent crime on the property (yes, inside and OUTSIDE the gates): a) put up security cameras EVERYWHERE (even if they're not on, they're a deterrent), b) FIX the gates when they are broken! The one right outside my apartment was open for ANYONE to walk in at anytime for two weeks before Equity fixed it, despite DAILY complaints, c) hire a uniformed guard to walk the property at night (trust me, with what they charge for rent, they could get one or two rent-a-cops for next to nothing). To be clear, it's not the safest neighborhood, and that's NOT Equity's fault, but they could be doing a LOT more!
