The complex is called 300 east seventeenth now. It used to be place where you could live in DT denver and not pay a lot. It's all different now. Remodeled rooms cost a lot and lack comfort in comparison to peers. You can also hear remodeling noise in the appartment nearby. Management will nickel and dime you everytime they can. Signing their lease is like signing credit card contract; just looks at the fees to understand what I mean. New gym is nice but sometimes crowded. I just did not feel comfortable with so many people in the room. I moved out and advise you to be very careful with this place. x-2PE3sjUIIeetAHoKOk

I am about to move in to this place. What type of things do they nickel and dime you on? Are renovations still going on? Any positives at all, or would you not recommend it at all?

It is not a "place". It is not a "complex" either. It is a dorm! If you enjoy wild parties, drunk girls vomitining from the balcony every weekend, and loud music you will feel right at home.... Forget about the nickel and dime, think of the wild parties you will enjoy (whether you want it or not) thanks to the cardboard walls. PAAAAARTAYY!!!!!

When you move in please read your lease. It has $75 late payment fee. It applied to me only once in two years, but management would not even discuss waiving it. I understand reasonable late payment fee, but such ridiculous amount is not justified. I also got letter from their attorney demanding payment. Please keep in mind I paid on the forth and was only one day late.

Lived here for 13 years and am moving out. Management went totally downhill the fast few years and yes, Maxx has priced out people and they have "plenty" of vacancies. Since they're hard up to get people in it's really become a place with shady characters. Since they remodeled about a year ago they've had furniture stolen from the lobby (where there is a guard), the laundry room and recently had 2 brand new HD tv's stolen from 2 of the 3 laundry rooms. Glass entrance doors have been smashed on numerous occasions. Forget about consistent elevator service. One of the 2 17th street elevators was down for 2 weeks around Thanksgiving. After getting it fixed it was operational for a few days and then down again for 4 days. Try that when people are moving in/out and there is one elevator operational. Yes, the laundry rooms have been updated but it's still the same managment that sometimes took over a month to fix broken washers and dryers. Changed apartments last year and they refused to change any of the bathroom mirrors even though they had horrible permanent streaks on each one. They said they would replace them if they were broken! $1,400 a month for rent and this is the service you get. People have sex in the hot tubs after the pool is closed so good luck with that. Drunks yelling off the balcony which if you have a pool side apartment you can hear a regular conversation because of the accoustics so imagine drunk people. Forget about opening your balcony in the summer. Music from the pool or the residents will blast you away. They have nobody checking the pool ever. Which means you can count up to 75 people at one time drinking and getting drunk at the pool with....glass bottles which are prohibited. This off course leaves it open to underage drinking. They let dogs in the apartments in the last year to attract tenants. Denver has a leash law but beware because if your in the courtyard 99% of the dogs are out there with their owner unleashed. I've even seen people let their dogs run loose MANY times when they are at the pool. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU ENJOY SPENDING A LOT OF MONEY ON RENT WITH LITTLE RETURN! The manager they had before MAXX took over was great! She cared about the tenants and worked with you. The lady that took her place was a witch and cared less about the tenants. She's gone now but so are we. 13 years. Rent started at $850 and is now almost $1,400.

No reviews since 11/2009? Someone reported 300 E 17th to bedbug registry on 8/25/2010! Does this complex now have a problem with bedbugs? Dear God, I hope not. I just moved in recently and really like it and like my unit. If someone knows, please reply. kiraalt@yahoo.com
