The leasing staff positions all turned over in the summer of '04. The new assistant manager (K.M.) is remarkably unhelpful, and deliberately adversarial.
After years of residence here I needed a larger unit, preferring to stay here than move to a new apartment complex. A few dealings with her tipped my opinion in the other direction. I moved out.
It was a completely different experience than the positive one when I rented three years previously.
The rental market is soft in Denver. Plenty of other places will act friendly to get your business.

Follow up: Months after moving out I discovered a large accounting error in Uptown's favor. With dread I went in person to the Uptown office, but a new accounting employee cleared it up quickly and efficiently, even though time had passed since their error. So though I had dreadful experiences with K.M., in fairness I must say I was well served in my last encounter there.
