Living at Uptown Village is not worth the money. Bad Manager bad complex. It could be, if they changed the manager and updated their antiquated appliances and overall appearance. The apartments them selves are over priced for the rudeness and un-caring nature of the management as well as age of the units. The only real redeeming qualities that this building offers is the leasing and maintenance staff (not the manager) they are very helpful and nice although are in a constant state of transition. When I moved in a very professional girl named Nikki who at the time was the assistant manager or something was my leasing agent. Since then I have dealt with about 10 other people. With the exception of the manager they have all been nice and have responded to my requests. The Maintenance staff is also quite helpful although due to the system that they use to tell the maintenance staff about the work they often, I believe, don't get the messages and it takes several requests.
The tenants at this complex are very young and disrespectful and there is often vandalism in the public areas.
All of these things aside when I moved out of my apartment I would have probably just moved on with my life but then the manager charged me for things in the apartment that were not there at time of move in and for cleaning that had already been completed and was not mentioned during our walkthrough.
If I were you and I wanted to live downtown I would keep on looking.
