Good and bad

There are a few pros and cons about the place, and I think for the most part, the negative reviews are a bit of hyperbole.
My main negatives is that the place completely lacks character. It looks exactly like my college dorm. The similarities are incredible. Secondly, all the appliances seem to be from the original construction, which was in the 80s. I had to get a microwave since the one in the apartment was crap. Thirdly, utilities are a bit high. The windows are huge and they suck out all heat and air conditioning. Also, there are no lights in the apartments! You have to buy your own. Also, the front door is shabby, so you can hear everything in the corridor.
There are plenty of positives though. For one, the windows are huge, providing great views. The walls are real thick and I've rarely heard my neighbors. The location is awesome. A short walk to 16th Street and a short walk to Colfax. Crime is real low in the area (for a major metro area), and I've felt fine walking home late nights from the bars. Mail service is good, since you can pick up your packages at the front desk.
Security is so so. I could easily get in and out of the building without a card, since the garage is often left open. Maintenance is excellent and speedy.
All that said, because of the lack of character and the thin front door, I'll probably be moving out when my lease is up.
