WARNING! Don't sign with them! These people and this corporation are completely soul-less and incompetent! I just had the unfortunate experience of discovering that the staff here at Uptown Village, did not file the paperwork properly when I left the apartment when my lease was up. I gave appropriate notice in writing that I would NOT be renewing and spoke with a staff member who said they received it and said nothing to me about filing any additional paper work!
NOTE! IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTND THE PROBLMES THIS CAUSES...
Because my roommate decided to stay & resign with a new roommate the idiots at uptown just amended the original lease that I had had and took my name off of it.
They should have terminated my lease and they did not.
Knowing I was no longer a resident at Uptown Village (my name is nowhere on the 2 "renewed leases") some staff member continued to send correspondence to the apartment unit addressed to me! When the two other tenants left 2 years later, they had destroyed the apartment, carpets and walls!
Whoever had been addressing correspondence to me, and who had not properly closed out my lease added my name to the invoice to collect on the entire cost of the damages incurred over the 2 years I was NOT a tenant there! Note: My name was NOT on the Notice to vacate form (and why would it be' I hadn t lived there for 2 years and this form was something they developed AFTER my time as a tenant there!)
All of that is of no concern to them, they don't care about your problems, and they don t care about treating anyone fairly or making anything right.
Uptown Village will immediately (less than 10 days) turn the bill over to a wretched agency called Continental Collection Agengy. Uptown admitted they didn't even try to find me/contact me before they sent my name to a collection agency. Once they do this, there is now NO chance of getting out of collections or receiving any help form Uptown Village.
Trust me. You will be sentenced to pay an unjust bill or fight endlessly as the Collection Agency drags you to court (Though it wasn't worth the hassle and suffering it was continuing to cause me, I'd recommend to others to take it to court).
Because no one at Uptown cared to do their job, or even tried to contact me, I was left liable for a bill for a huge sum for damages I did not cause!
These people and this corporation are completely soul-less and incompetent! I'd never recommend any one ever sign a thing with them!

Additionally during my time as a tenant....
Laundry theft was a HUGE problem but they did nothing about it.
Also, our apartment became infested with bugs that were there when we moved in. Uptown refused to help us or exterminate. They accused us of bringing them with us. They told us they would fine us if we exterminated ourselves.
Apparently, tenants are expected to live with a pest problem and believe me, this place has some serious ones!
