We first moved in while the apartments were under the ownership of Baron Properties and were totally satisfied!! Then a couple months later, Omni took over ownership. First off, the main reason we moved into the apartments is because we were able to move close to the pool and laundry machines. At that time, they were both open until 10PM, giving me (a 9-5 working woman) time to do my laundry and take a dip in the pool with my husband and son. After Omni took over, they closed the pool every day at 6PM, NO EXCEPTIONS!! It closed even earlier on Sunday, and everyone knows how great it is to swim on the hot weekends.

Second, they control when you get to have air conditioning and heating, even though you are paying for it. The first time the temp dropped to 30 degrees, they turned the air off and NEVER turned it back on, even though a few days later the temperature rose to 90 degrees. To top it off, we couldn't even take a dip in the pool to cool off in the evenings, because it was closed.

Third, they NEVER fixed our water problem. The temperature kept changing from freezing to scalding hot, even when you are not using the faucet anywhere else. They looked at it once and that was it. Even repeated times asking them, they still did nothing. My son loves showers and couldn't even take one because it would almost burn him. It just really sucked that we couldn't ENJOY our showers. We always had to prepare for it to change temperature.

Fourth, instead of hiring someone to watch after the pool and laundry area after 6PM, they decided they needed to re-landscape, which didn't need to be done. They tore out all the bushes, trees, etc. Then planted what looked like dying plants, then surrounded them by gray rocks. Made the place look dreary and un-attractive! Not to mention they planted these just weeks before it got cold, which killed practically all the plants. They also thought it would be important to buy a brand new van with the Ventana name on the side. Everytime I left for work, the van was sitting in the front, then everytime I came back home, the van was in the same place. Yeah, that was money well spent!

As soon as our lease was up, we were gone, as were the majority of our neighbors as well!! People couldn't wait to get out of there, and some were even breaking their leases!! Now, almost two months later, they have yet to give us our security deposit back. They make sure you have it first day you move in, but don't really care when they get it back to you. It would be nice to have that money during the holidays!

All in all, this was the worst living experience EVER!! Even after complaining to them, it seemed as if they didn't care because they did not live there and were able to sit in their air conditioned homes and had the ability to do their laundry whenever they chose.

I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!!! BE AWARE!!!

Well if it came down to them never doing anything you could have gone to an outside source to complain and at least have a complaint put against them through the BBB abd if they dont fix things or such there are ways of fixing them yourself and sending them the bill or if nothing else move...its a capitalist world so you have to fight for your rights only you can control them after all. Plus for the price you pay its not going to be a palace or anything.

I do have experience being a resident at The Ventana and it has been great. Baron was absolutely horrible. They never took care of a thing. When Omni took over the office staff was great. Unfortunately there were needs which caused the pool and laundry areas to be closed. If you would have actually communicated with the office staff you would have know that there were some idiots that were trying to damage everything. So in order to even have it available for use during business hours they had to close things after hours. Again if you communicate in any fashion you would know that the van is for residents to be transported to and from the light rail. Again and added benefit. Some people are amazing. You get what you pay for plan and simple. The age of the building contributes to the pipes and the heat and air. A boiler/ chiller system can not have both. By law the complex has to turn over to heat when it gets below 40. They did just as they were suppsoe to do. Of course there will be people that think they are the only ones that matter (like you) however the management has to think of everyone as a whole. Good luck finding any place better on your budget.

TC0656 is a real low-life pig that likes living in the conditions at the Ventana! TC0656 probably sucks ---- for rent, and thats why he/she/it can't complain! No...it can't be that anyone living there actually LIKES it. I bet TCO656 is one of the employees of the Ventana... And--I found a much better place--for the same price! And--I have a washer/dryer in my unit! And--everything works. And--there are no mice! The Ventana S-U-C-K-S! Just like TC0656!

Out of curiosity, since when is $750 for a 650 square foot one bedroom apartment considered some great deal??? The only reason people live here is because they are one of the few places in Denver that will take large dogs. And regarding the heat situation, I realize there is a law about turning on the heat at a certain temperature, there sure must not be one regarding air conditioning. I moved in in May and was told my heat would be up and running within a week and it took them nearly two months of 90 degree weather before it was working. The ladies in the office are nice but nothing ever seems to get done. Apartments are nice on the inside but for $750/month, they should be!
