One of the worst places I've lived...

Where do I begin First, let me say that I m not normally a complainer, however, this has got to be one of the worst places that I ve ever lived. I've been here almost two years and I'm getting ready to finally leave because I've had enough. This complex is VERY noisy. The floors/ceilings are extremely thin (i.e. your neighbors have sex and your the one who needs a cigarette afterwards) and there is continuous noise (foot traffic, bumping, crashing, etc..) from the people who live above me. Lesson learned: I'll never live in a lower-level unit again. I filed noise complaints a couple of times, as this has been a reoccurring problem from 12am-8am. However, my complaints seem to have fallen on "deaf ears" (no pun intended). So, if you have vampires living above you who are awake at all hours of the night/morning, you re basically screwed. Also, most of the units here are also sitting on the main entrance drive and as a result, you get a lot of car stereo noise from the drunk a-holes who come home at 2:30 AM. I'm a young guy who likes music as much as the next, but this is a very big annoyance when you are trying to sleep at 3am and some jackass' base box is pounding through your bedroom wall. Seems like it would be a very simple task for management to place a sign at the entrance that states: "please turn down your car stereo upon entering complex." Last but not least, my car has been broken into twice and my patio has flooded into my living room on several occasions. The small drains on the garden level units clog easily (leaves, etc...) and water will enter into your living room during heavy rains. Well, I think that about sums this place up! I hope I haven t scared you away. And just think all this can be yours for $800 per month. Welcome home!

I've been here for nearly three years and I can basically agree with the above statements. The good side of this place includes well kept landscaping, nice pools, and a good workout room.

All apartments walls/floors are paper thin. Get over it and buy a house. I agree they have water problems on the garden levels. Also resolved by getting a top floor. VABC is pretty good in my book. AND anyone who says they're not a complainer... is.

Pretty much everything this person says is true... Stay away from the garden-level units unless you like water in your living room. The older units are also quite noisy... There are better places in the area for less $$$.

Not "all" apartment walls are thin - try a well built older building, instead of these crackerboxes and you might find out. I lived here for a year and a half and I experienced all this guy dd and more. The average utility bill was more than when I rented a 3 bedroom house!! Leaked heat and cold like a colander - which has bigger holes than a sieve! Noisy neighbors upstairs - and ditto on the ground floor thing. In fact, we asked for a 2nd floor apt when we applied and they lied and told us none were available. Meanwhile the upstairs place across from us sat vacant for 3 months after we moved in. Typicall leasing company BS artists in the office. Seriously, rent from a private owner and life is much easier.

I agree with the person above. I can feel the cold air blowing in through the windows and the front door. My utility bill has been over $150 a month. Also the person above me is so loud and I have tried talking to her but her kid continues to jump up and down on the floor after midnight while us normal people are trying to sleep. Management has been helpful but not the best.
