Love this place BUT.....

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
I have lived here for 2 years and I love this place, but I do agree with a lot of the negatives people are reporting.
The Negatives: The workout room is pretty much in ruins. The treadmil said "Replace belt" for well over a year and a half. Avoid a unit on the bottom floor. I live on the 2nd, but the lady belows me always complains about her patio flooding into her house when it rains havily (which isn't that often). Our energy bill is unreal. We refuse to use our heater/air condiction unless it's absolutely unavoidable. Cold air leaks in from around the door and windows. Our stove, washing machine, fridge, and dishwasher have to be from the 70's. They are huge energy wasters, and the office refusese to replace them unless they break. (That's the only way we go a new dryer!) BTW, the washers and dryers are NOT full-size in every unit like they first told me! The fireplace is more for looks than warmth because no matter how well you get the fire going, it does not heat up the place at all. Walls are indeed thin. I have seen a couple cars which have been broken into, but never anybody's who I know. The like to turn the sprinklers on around the time I leave for work, and there's no way for me to leave my apartment without getting SOAKED! Although lately, they have seemed to stop this for now! The paint job they did on the trim is pretty bad. It has a lot of streaks; it needed another coat or two!
The Positives: Everytime I've reported a problem it's been promptly fixed either that day or the next!!!!! LOCATION! It is 5-10 mins away from Red Rocks, right on the Bear Creek bike/Horse trail, close to the mountains, and major highways! Close enough to shopping. It only ever takes one call! The pool is always crowded, but it's pretty nice. Rent isn't bad for what you get, in my experience. Parking isn't too bad. I love Thirsty Bear Bar and Grill which is across the screet! Police seem to patrol the area at night, so I feel pretty safe. The grounds are well kept, yet the lawn mowers used to wake me up in the mornings.
I love this place. They painted the ugly brown trim/doors white for me before I moved in. This made the place look much larger. It's one of the best places I've rented. Although it has made me realize how much I want a house!
