Better luck somewhere else

Where to begin...You get assigned 2 parking spots but are lucky to ever get one. I had neighbors who blocked 'their' spots with orange parking cones. A maintenance man entered my apartment without consent. Actually without me ever calling for one, so who knows why he was there. Staff is rude and unresponsive. It takes multiple calls to get anything accomplished. The trash was not picked up for over 2 weeks because the bill went unpaid. The whole city block ended up litered with trash. Most recently I did not get my security deposit back in the required amount of time. After contacting management, they are telling me it's because I didn't turn in my keys. And the thing is, I did turn in my keys. I was also told they decided to finally walk through my apartment because they found my move out notice crumpled up 'somewhere' in the office. Nice huh' With the amount of money you have to pay to live at the Villages at Curtis Park, your money is better spent somewhere else. What this place really is is a low income crap hole. And even if you don't fall in the low income category, you are still treated as if that is where you belong. So if you like the hassle of fighting your landlord and the ring of gun shots, then this is the place for you. But if you actually take pride in where you live and want what you pay for, better luck somewhere else.

Since moving in before summer, gunshots rang out every weekend over the summer, the winter has been quiet. We had an individual killed in the park, a little girl stabbed, my niece was attacked while walking to the light rail. It kills me how insensitive people are. It is again more than obvious that someone internal is responding to these.

That park is an abomination! There is a neighborhood group that is working on the clean up for it. The Manager told me that the apartment complex contracts the Denver Police Dept. for curtasy patrol, I have seen them here a couple of times. This summer was worse than last summer. But a curfew was put out this summer. which seemed to help a little. I too heard a lot of gun shots. But none too close to my house. My neighbors who were really bad were evicted. That was a blessing. I think the office staff does the best they can with what they have. It is 4 girls in an interesting and eclectic neighborhood. We can't really blame them for violance arround the property... They do have to be safe too. I think the good and bad of the area comes and goes. I have enjoyed seeing the neighborhood change and the new condo's going up. Been here for three or maybe four years now. I like my place. As for the parking. I've never had an issue. The first response to this article definately looks internal, but remember, they have a resident board here. I remember the trash two years ago. That was the other people who used to run the place. Then it was ghetto!! Those people NEVER did a thing!!

To the person who left the comment on 2/22/09, I am the author of this review and orginally an old neighbor and employee of these apartments attacked me about my review. The first response you saw here was mine after they attacked me. However, their response is no longer showing up here. So I say go ahead and talk negatively about the management. That is precisely what I set out to do. They were talking trash about me and I felt this wasn't the place to do it. So you have to read my response in that context.
