I lived here for four years.
Though I am in my 30s and many of the other residents are VERY retired (see: OLD), I loved living here.
The building was quiet, well-kept, in a great location, and the manager, Jeremy, was always very friendly and helpful.
The only things I did not like about this building were:
1.
Trash truck in the early morning - if you live on the north side (which is MUCH cooler in the summer), this is an unavoidable annoyance
2.
The rents seemed to keep going up, despite a very depressed rental market (which is why I ended up moving)
3.
The plumbing is not so great, and stopped up tub drains were a fact of life here
4.
Some really bored, weird people hang out in the lobby and eavesdrop on your business, should you stop to have friendly conversations with Jeremy or other residents
5.
There are a lot of old, lonely people here who might want to talk your ear off
6.
A $500 security deposit is STEEP!
7.
Often getting blocked in by the trash truck in the mornings, trying to leave the parking lot to go to work
8.
No pool :(
What I loved:
1.
Heat, AC, and cable (including HBO & Cinemax!) all included in the rent
2.
Cool, funky, retro metal cabinets in the kitchen
3.
TONS of storage space
4.
HUGE, gargantuan balconies
5.
Incredible views, with a full glass "wall" (all sliding doors) in every apartment
6.
Spacious, updated apartments
7.
Lots of great little restaurants, shops, and businesses are just a short walk away - totally convenient
8.
A laundry room on every floor
9.
Secure building
If I had a bit more income, I would probably still live there!

I used to live at Wellshire and it was fabulous. Especially those wrap around balconies!

Sadly, Jeremy passed away a little over a year ago. We miss him greatly. Cable no longer included, not even basic. A/C has problems and is really not free since you have to pay for the blower. Trash trucks and the like are to be expected when you live in the city. Plumbing-Tenants are now being told they will be responsible for cost of cleaning out drains. A repair man has to be called to do this type of routine maintenance. No on site maintenance any more. Funky role-out cabinets are being replaced with lovely but less functional wood cabinets. |
