These apartments are a very well kept secret in Denver. Had I not gotten ill and had to move, I would still be there. My daughter had a bunch of "grandparents" on our floor and was just adored and loved to death, since she was the only child on our floor. The wrap-around balconies were fabulous. My apartment was so beautifully sunny that I rarely needed to turn on the lights until it was completely dark outside. There was plenty of storage, too. The bedrooms were large enough to accommodate king sized beds and the living/dining room area were huge...I had a table that seated 8 comfortably and a complete living room set with an upright piano. My daughter used to roller skate on the balcony since it was so big and we had room for a table, chairs, and her playhouse out there. The location couldn't have been better, either. Jeremy was the manager when I was there and he was excellent. When I became very ill, he made sure I was checked on and that everything was okay when I came out of the hospital. So did the neighbors, who were mostly older. The only things I didn't like were the pine bugs that got into the apartment every year from the trees outside the second floor window on the south side. Also, it wasnt' exactly easy to find a place outside for my five year old to play since some of the residents really didn't like children. There was a courtyard, but we got complaints about her being out there. One lady in the elevator was really rude about having children in the building and said she liked it better when the building was mostly retired people. My daughter never forgot those comments. On the other hand, the people on our floor more than made up for that one dumb woman. I would definitely recommend these apartments and if I move back to Denver, I would love to live there if I can afford them. I understand the rents have really gone up pretty high. The previous reviewer is correct. Before Jeremy passed away and the elder Mr. Reiger turned the building over to his daughter, Wellshire Arms was a Denver dream come true. Tenants were respected and rents stayed low. Current management has made poor decisions that have caused rents to sky rocket and amenities to disappear. Example: On site manager and wife were responsible for showing apartments, cleaning, and minor repairs. Current on site manager out sources cleaning & maintenance and still has a hard time keeping the office open more than a few hours a day. On site manager is great at posting rude memos in the elevators. Just wait until your future father-in-law arrives for dinner and there is a note in the elevator stating management will be conducting random inspections because everyone living here is apparently hording garbage and living in filth. Very Classy. If the water will be turned off or workmen will be in your apartment to change filters, you will have to search for that notice. That type of information will only be posted on the bulleting board by the mailboxes, 24 hours in advance. Read your lease. Management believes it can enter your apartment at any time without contacting you first. Very Professional. |

Oh, I was so sorry to hear about Jeremy's passing. He was so good to me and my kid. Now, it looks like I will be moving back to Denver and my thought was to move back to Wellshire Arms until we find a house. If the rents are really high, I may have to make other plans!
