This is my first apartment alone, and I really like it. It gets a little bit noisy when a siren goes by, but otherwise, you really don't hear a lot of road noise with your doors closed (even though it's right off Colorado Blvd). My place wasn't horribly clean when I moved in, it was clear whoever lived there before me was a very heavy smoker, but once I got over my initial disgust and made it into my home I started to love it.

One of the biggest downsides I've found to living here is that you can't choose whether it's cold or hot air that blows out of the system. I rarely have my fan on. But they pay for the heat so I don't complain.

I pay extra for parking per month, though, and I get a little disgruntled about it, but the assigned spot is really nice.

The location is wonderful. It's not a far walk (maybe 15 minutes) to the Lightrail station, which is very very convenient since I work in the middle of downtown. There's plenty of shopping and food in the area (the JoAnn's across the street is dangerous for me), and is in a relatively safe neighborhood. I feel very safe here, like I don't even have to lock the deadbolt... You never see strangers in the building unless they're visiting someone.

Everyone is so friendly, it's nice to have familiar faces whenever I go in. Donna Lee is awesome, I love how I've only lived there for five months, and she knows my name and is always happy to chat.

To the fellow who says that "people only live there one year," there are people who have lived in that building for half their lives. A lot of older folk and grad students, so it's pretty quiet. I get very very little neighbor noise (though, again, some street noise).

They have an exercise room, and a fabulous party room, and even a sun deck and small grounds. I don't think they're allowing new residents to have pets, but there are people with dogs and cats that have had them for awhile.

Overall it's been a great place to live, especially for my first place out on my own.

Really not too smart telling everyone on the net you do not use your deadbolt. You do know someone broke into the storage areas on two floors a week or so ago don't you? Guess what, there was no dead bolt on those doors. Regarless of where you live or how safe you feel you should use your deadbolt like the rest of us do. Thanks though for inviting undesirables to the building.

Not everyone has a deadbolt and not everyone closes their doors-ever! I've spoken with people that have lived here half of their lives and to their knowledge no one has ever broken into an occupied apartment. Or an unoccupied apartment. Are you the person that always responds with a nasty comment to everyone that looks on the bright side of things? Some have said that you have lived here for several years-why? I am happy that most of the people in this building aren't like you. I spoke with Donna regarding the break-ins and she said they put deadbolts on the storage doors as soon as they found that someone broke in. Management also responded with a safety newsletter to ask residents to be aware of who you share your floor with, unusual noises, etc. This building has an extraordinary record of security for being around since 1964. The building management suggests that people use the storage areas at their own risk because as we have found out, A Lock Doesn't Keep A Desperate Person Out. I like living here and I'm going to stay living here because I like the people, they're kind and nice and for the most part, quiet. We don't have police showing up to deal with domestic violence or out of control parties. For the most part, people are responsible and respectful. If we have one bad apple, well thats better than living somewhere with the majority out of control.
