Don't be fooled or taken in...

I have lived here since November 2004, and started looking for a new apartment within a few months. My roommate and I got taken in by the great location and the look of the model, but the experience of living here is awful.

My roommate has been bullied by the maintenance staff and by police when he requested to have issues resolved, such as car alarms going off and non-residents parked in the gated parking lot. In addition, the leasing staff and property mgr seemed disinterested anytime we voiced a concern, such as people running down the halls, the security doors being yanked open or left open, non-residents following us into the complex through the gates, dog crap in the hallways and stairwells, lit cigarettes in the stairwells, nail holes in our kitchen (that weren't there when we moved in), carpet puckering at a 90 degree angle in the living room, etc..., etc... As for the nail holes and the puckering of the carpet, they felt it would be too much of a nuisance to fix, and I didn't feel like arguing the point. And when we moved in I let them know about a stain in my bedroom from the previous owner, they said they couldn't get it out and didn't want to replace the carpet. I walked over to Wal-mart, bought some Resolve-triple action cleaner and the stain came up no problem, they were just too lazy to deal with it. We finally took our complaints the property management company and the property mgr and most of the leasing staff were finally replaced. This may resolve a lot of the issues, but were not sticking around to find out.

By the way, Englewood has some of the hardest water in the metro area and the complex doesn't put water softeners in. My skin has been a complete mess since moving in here. I have spent well over $1000, on shower filters, creams and ointments trying to get my dry itchy skin under control and trying to keep my hair from continuing to be dry and brittle due to the water. It's disgusting...

I can't wait until November when our lease is up and we can move away from this pit...
