You will regret moving here

I have lived here for a year and a half. When I first moved in, things were mediocre. However, within the last six months, the complex has gone downhill fast. The most disturbing issue happened Sunday night 10/23/05 around midnight. A drunk idiot pulled the fire alarm (which echoes through the whole complex and is so loud it practically shakes the walls. Not to mention, this is probably the 10th time that the fire alarm has been pulled in the middle of the night). He was screaming obscenities and chasing a security guard through the parking lot. The police had to be called and finally escorted the belligerent individual out of the building in hand cuffs. The office refused to issue any information on what had happened. Was this individual a resident or did he walk into the complex' Only a generic apology letter was placed on our doors.
I have witnessed many other fights and altercations around the complex. I have no idea if these people are residents or people who have wandered over from Walmart. I have even been approached by drunk men in the parking lot. There are flyers up describing theft. Unwanted salesmen continuously come to my door. The utilities that you pay (and you have to pay for everything) are similar to what youd pay for a small house, even for my little one-bedroom. The garbage rooms are disgusting. If you come home after midnight, there is usually nowhere to park in the gated parking lot. People rarely clean up after their dogs. Doors that you need a key card to enter through are frequently broken or left open. The materials they used to build this place are shoddy. I used a wet paper towel on the wall once to try to remove a small stain in the kitchen and the paint started rubbing off. People are always running and screaming in the hallways at all hours of the night. I could go on for pages on all the things that are wrong with this place.
Even with all of these incidents (the fights are most frightening to a single woman like myself), they are trying to raise my rent. I have been trying to contact the property manager, but she refuses to return any of my phone calls. I am appalled at the fact that they would actually try to raise my rent in this dump. The script-reading robots in the office refuse to compromise with me and insist that I must pay the raised rent. This place is ridiculous and I cant wait to move out.
