Sick and tired of it...

I've lived in the Alexan for 18 months and it is ripe with problems.
1. Kevin (the Qwest representative who deals with the Alexan complex residents' phone and satellite services) is incompetent and takes weeks to get anything done, and then rarely does it get done right.
2. Fire alarm is falsely pulled on multiple occassions in the middle of the night.
3. Apartment office employees do not take complaints seriously.
4. No guest parking (street parking is only 2-hour during the day). No designated parking...If you get home late, good luck finding a spot to park, as it is usually full.
5. Costs keep going up, up, up...my monthly payments to the complex were around $800 when I moved in. It is now nearly $1000 per month. It has increased 25% in only 18 months (disgusting). Does anyone here get a 25% increase in income in an 18 month period here' ...I didn't think so.
6. One time a guy was trying to get to the tenants in the aparmtment next to mine. He was smashing the steel door with the claw-side of a hammer. 911 hung up on me, and didn't call back. Police were not on the scene for over an hour. Security was nowhere to be seen. Detectives showed up to my apartment by mistake the next day, thinking it was my apartment which was attacked.
7. Mailboxes have been vandalized on a few occassions.
8. Pool Area has been vandalized on a few occassions. Glass bottles have been thrown into the pool area and broken on the concrete, thrown into the pool. Poolside chairs have been thrown into pool and vandalized.
9. Faucets and Fixtures are loose. They don't leak, but they wobble back & forth.
10. Dish washers suck
11. Nothing is tight. Everything is loose. Screws on light-switch panels can be removed with the fingernail.
12. It takes forever for hot water to come out of faucets...Previous apartment I lived in, the water heater was same distance from faucets. Hot water would come out in 5-10 seconds. At the Alexan, you will wait 1-2 minutes for hot water to come out of faucet.
13. Parking lot on North side of complex becomes thick with ice in the winter. Carefull when walking on it. Complex does not remove ice until early springtime. At the end of the cold season, ice can be up to 5" thick in most places.
14. North-West central doors at the 3rd floor stairwell are broken, and have not been fixed. This is a fire door as well as a door meant to block cold and hot air blowing down the hallways messing with apartment temperatures.
15. I used to have one of the fake plants in the big pots outside my apartment door. It looked nice. One night, someone tried to swipe the pot and accidentally slammed it into the door going down the stairs and it broke and fell all over the floor into pieces. I reported the incident to the complex. It took 4 days before they cleaned up the mess. Individual was never aprehended, to my knowledge.
16. Pet fees are outrageous. They want $500 deductible for a CAT! A FRICKING CAT!!!!! You can adopt a cat for $45. They want a $500 deductible'!'!'! Gimme a friggin break.
All I can say if you move into Alexan is go to a Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) Class and buy yourself a gun. Learn to use it, keep it loaded and close...I do...
But, find a nice duplex or townhome to rent...avoid this horrible place.

what do you mean a 500 deductible? do you mean a fee? I agree not a nice place for the money. False alarm is terrible at 2 or 4 in the morning (like in the past 2 months), but that is because of some of the idiots living here.

They charge a $500 Deposit for a Cat. A bit outrageous, in my opinon.

Has anyone seen all the tagging on the main level halls? A government run low income housing looks better on the inside than this S&^T hole.
