I rented a 2 bed/2 bath at Alexan for a year. My rent was always paid either early or on the due date. I took care of the apartment. Apart from a stain I made on the carpet the day I moved, the apartment was as good as when I moved in.

I supplied my forwarding address to the staff, they also had my telephone number and work contact details.

Can you imagine my surprise then when I recieved a letter from a DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY for my final bill' When I phoned Alexan to find out why, they said they'd sent me a final bill but it was returned. If this is the case - WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST PHONE ME' No, instead they hand the bill over to a debt collection agency ( oddly enough the address Alexan gave the Debt Collection Agency found me ). So now, I have a BLACK MARK against my otherwise perfect credit history. THANKYOU ALEXAN.

So beware, Alexan is staffed by people who don't give a damn about your credit history or you, and are quite happy to report you to a collection agency without taking the time or effort to contact you. If I'd been deliquent in my rent payments while I was there, fair enough, but this is how they treat good tennants - so beware.

I have lodged a complaint with Trammel Crow, and am even considering not paying the final bill - the mark is against my name already. Thanks again Alexan.

As someone in the business, I'd work out a settlement with the collection agency as quickly as possible and get a letter in writing that they will remove any marks from your credit report. If they won't remove it from your credit report, don't pay. It's no longer Trammel Crow, it's now managed by Riverstone Residential. It will haunt you forever and hurt you worse than a bankruptcy.
