I have lived here for over 3 years. When I first moved in, I loved the place. In the last year, I have learned to HATE the place.
I will second a previous poster about the dog poop. You cannot walk more than 5 feet without seeing dog poop, or stepping in it. This isn't terrible in the winter when it's all frozen, but in the spring/summer, it is a horrible smell issue, it kills the grass where it sits for weeks on end without being picked up ( I think they hope the lawnmower will somehow suck it all up like a vacuum ), and if you want to lay in the grass for some sun and a tan - you WONT be able to do it without laying down a tarp to shield you from the poop!!!
Yes, the rent gets raised NO MATTER WHAT. My stove/oven wobbles and the paint on the top has a big black mark in it that cannot be removed, they do not care! My faucet in the bathroom squeals for 3/4 of a turn before any water will come out, they do not care! My carpet is over 3 years old and looks like garbage, it's worn out and unraveling - they will do NOTHING unless I rent some storage space or rent one of their garages for a month to take EVERY single piece of furniture, etc. out of the apartment for a week while they re-carpet. The stairway up to my apartment is littered with stains, cracked cement, the walls have cigarette but burns, stains, spit, gum - THE APARTMENT COMPLEX DOES NOT EVER CLEAN ANY OF THESE THINGS!!!!
So you would think, if things are BREAKING DOWN / WORN OUT, getting DIRTIER AND DIRTIER, and the ECONOMY is TANKING, and it's about 4 TIMES CHEAPER to buy a house right now than it was 2 years ago - then RENT SHOULD GO DOWN???????????????? Not at Dove Valley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The thing about rent going down... In a recession, when many people are loosing their homes, rent will always go up in capitalist economies. Why? Because people are desperate and will pay through the nose and a good little capitalist will take advantage of that, even if it's not the their best interest long term. Because who cares about the long term? Corporations need that money NOW so their CEO can buy that 6000sqft villa in Barbados. He'll sell off parts of the company and leave them all bankrupt in a few months but that's how capitalism works, dont' you know! And you don't have any money, so you don't matter anyway.
