Noisy and poor quality appliances

I was excited to move into The Marks because the grounds are so well kept but after almost a year, I can't wait to leave. The noise at night is unbearable. Because we're close to DU, some renters are undergraduate students. I can't count the number of times I have been woken at 3 am by informal "parties" on my neighbor's balconies. The noise and constant smell of cigarette smoke are the worst things about this place.
Maintence: It took the maintence office 3 visits to fix my dishwasher and 2 times to fix the fan in my bathroom.
Apartment: The apartment was dirty when I moved in. Dust clinging to the air vents.
Management: The office staff has actually been pretty nice. I've never had a problem with them. BUT, I just got my renewal notice and my rent has risen despite the highest vacency situation in Denver for 15 years!
Over-all. Make sure that your apartment faces the outside of the property and not a court yard or sidewalk. Sound travels up the court-yard and it feels like people are in your apartment.
