My husband and I decided to move in last summer. We have two young children and were told we were moving into an area where they put the families . They said they respect renters with children and try to keep them together in the same area because they do have young renters who like to be loud and they would keep us separate from them. That was the lie told to us that brought is in! We thought that was great and signed the lease.
Soon after we move in, the apartment across from us gets a group of 3 young guys. These guys party all the time, they are loud, they leave their beer cans on OUR patio as they walk by to the parking lot. I hear them fighting all hours of the night in their apartment as well as in the parking lot, witch by the way is right by my youngest child bedroom. They pass back and forth late in the night yelling at each other, passing my children s windows, causing them to wake up. Needless to say, trying to get an 18 month old back to sleep is a chore!!
We have ZERO problems with maintenance. In fact - I have never had such great maintenance staff!! Of course with an older building, we occasionally have a few things run ragged, which they never have a problem fixing. I can say the ONLY problem we had, was our first night we moved in (a Friday night), the garbage disposal was broke and water and the neighbors food was all over our kitchen floor.. We paged maintenance and got no response until Monday morning! That was the only issue that we had.
As for the office - we do not deal with them. We pay rent on line and make service requests online. So there is not much time to interact with them.
I don t really pay attention to the -------- and how many there are, as long as they do not interrupt my lifestyle I could care less how many occupy a one bedroom. I do have some issues with the children in this complex though. They constantly play right in my patio windows, children s windows and at times in my doorway. They skateboard into my patio and into the external wall to my children s bedrooms. They scream right in front of my place all the time - thank God for TIVO!!! Not to mention the throwing of the football into my sliding doors!!! That BUGS the hell out of me! I know that the a few of the children line in different buildings, but insist on playing right in front of my place.. I have drawn my own conclusion that their parents don t want to hear them be loud and throw balls in their windows, so they tell their kids Go play somewhere else. I can just hear them tell their kids that. Well NEWSFLASH, I don t want to hear their kids either. Note: I will complain this summer if need be. Overall, I think it is ok. No serious complaints. Ooh yeah - we never got our welcome gift either! And I better not get roaches!
