New Managment forgot we call this our home

I have always been a fair and balanced person. I have 3 years at Stratford and I will miss the environment that was in place when I moved in. I had some of the best neighbors I have ever had with those best of moments I will never forget. I hate to say this, but it is true about the new management. They are bad.

To who ever reads this, do not take just the my review or any reviews to heart, I could be a competitor saying the nasties, or I could be the management counter reviewing saying how great it is, hang out in the area, near the dog park, pool area, mail boxes or parking lots before putting your signature on a lease or commit to anything long term. Ask the people that live here. Do some research and find out how long they have lived here. I am pretty sure you will find the majority is after the fall of 2007. There is a reason why and that is JPI. If you find someone who has been here at least 6 months before the take over, see if you can get an opinion of the different management styles and why their old neighbors and in some cases good friends have moved out. I challenge new management to try a counter review of that.

I will admit the previous manager would not let you walk on her, some of the other neighbors did have patterns with noise complaints and or late rent, she was still fair about things. I would not go as far as say mean or rude about it, just firm. I personally liked her and so did a good portion of the people that lived here that could stay out of trouble. This new ownership/management plan has just ruined everything. They forgot the fact that we have been calling this our home. I feel I am nothing more then a walking talking money machine to them and I produce a couple hundred to little. I have watched them throw out good people that have lived her longer then I. I am watching some of the best neighbors I have ever lived next to leave. They are finding ways out of leases or even willing to take the hit breaking it. I myself have considered getting an eviction on my record just to move but I do not have long to go till my lease is up.

I read the previous review that parking was great. well neighbor you have not been here long enough if your saying that. this place use to be full and that should say something about the previous management. Everyone is either being thrown out or moving out and that is why we have front row parking. Until JPI came in the only complaint I ever had here was coming home and finding the only parking left to be in the back corner. Granted this was only after 10pm, prior to 10 it was at least near my stair way. Now my complaint list is longer then Santa's list. The older Lady at the front was brought in for a purpose and she is doing a good job of that. She is getting the old renters to leave through various tactics either be it lack of property upkeep at no fault to the original staff (you should leave too you can do better), or just plain being cold. They do not care about anything but the rent check. The younger cute gal up front however is nice but she does seem to be more of an assistant. I guess every evil mother needs a Cinderella to attract new people or clean up messes and JPI has it well thought out but My recommendation is look somewhere else. All the good neighbors here have.

I wrote the previous review and do have to say I had no issues with parking even when the old management was here. I have had bad apartment living and this isn't it. Maybe if you all had it as bad as I did at my previous apartment (gun shots, roaches, nasty apartments, no maintenance, lost rent checks, etc.) then maybe you would get a touch with reality and see Stratford isn't bad. I think the people on here that are complaining just can't handle change and complain about everything. I am still sticking with my comment about Alexandra. She would make rude comments about people living in apartments and being "poor". She would also make rude comments after hanging up the phone with a potential renter. How is that better than what we have?

that's an excellent review! I totally agree with everything. The new manager is an evil -----. She can rot in hell.

I live in a complex in MD that was taken over by JPI almost 2 years ago and I concur: they are horrible. They even evicted a 90 yr old resident who had lived here since the place was built. They raised her rent $200 and of course she couldn't pay it so they put her out. The office staff has terrible attitudes, maintenance - well, what maintenance? - yet they keep raising the rent and telling us about the "improvements" they intend to make. Meanwhile it's 110 degrees and our pool still is not open. At least I know now that our complex isn't just a fluke, this is just a bad management company. I wonder if their home office ever reads these comments... or if they even care?
