I've lived at Stratford Station for almost 3 years. Up until the new management (within the last 6 months), JPI, took over, I've loved this apartment complex. Great location, nice people, safe and secure, great rental rates, very very quiet.
These apartments are older, but in good shape, but when the new management company took over, they started putting up large Renovations in Progress! signs in front without mentioning anything to current residents. They started doing ridiculous things to bring in new residents like doing a "midnight madness" event complete with full-on rotating spotlights in the parking lot. I witnessed numerous people drive here because they probably thought a new dance club was open or something, and get here, realize it's an apartment complex, and promptly turn around and leave (who shops for apartments at midnight'). Can you say trying too hard''
Anyhow, I could live with the dorkiness, but now that they've moved into the complete renovations stage (re-painting all buildings, renovating the front office, renovating apartments with all-new finishes), they are completely alienating current residents in favor of new residents with more money. I was planning on renewing my lease for another year when my lease is up in 2 months because I love the location, my floor plan, and my nice mountain views. I received a letter from management last week stating that my apartment had been chosen for renovations and my lease WOULD BE terminated when it was up in 2 months. If I choose to keep my current apartment, I have to move out on July 31st for a MONTH. Completely move out and find somewhere to stay and keep all of my belongings for a month. Then I could move back into my newly renovated apartment. Okay...so what about rental rates' My current rent is $600 a month for a 569 square foot apartment (1 bedroom, 1 bath). If I choose to move back in, my new rent will be $800 a month new fees like community water and a new trash/pest fee. That is an insane rent increase.
I'm sad that I have to leave, but they really put current residents in a very awkward and unrealistic situation.
For new residents, rent rates are probably lower, but I can almost guarantee that after a year, rent will skyrocket. Still, this is a safe and quiet community, so if you can afford the new prices, you may be happy here. As long as your new apartment is already renovated, hopefully the management adjusts as it is here longer and things settle down.

Well, you are lucky you are leaving - they have rats running amok in units and parked cars, the management knows, they think it is funny and they WILL NOT do anything about it. We have started calling it RATford station and encouraging others to move out.
