Is it possible that things have changed that much in the past decade' This place had the WORST management I have ever encountered, and I have lived in a LOT of apartments. We moved into Hickory Hill Village when it was first built, and had one problem after another. We lived here for over four years... and RLS management treated us like crap! First, they tried to kick us out for being "over occupancy" when we had a baby! This is not only unethical, but incredibly illegal; although, they did apologize to us when the Housing Authority threatened them with a lawsuit. They also stole our deposit to pay for the improperly installed vinyl tile flooring in the bathroom. The idiot contractor who built the place, skimped on the materials and put a seam in the middle of the floor, perpendicular to the bathtub, so that whenever we used it, water would leak into the seam and cause damage in the subflooring, causing the floor to peal up along the seamline. I pointed this out to our management repeatedly, and they refused to fix it; and then graciously sent US the bill to replace the floor when we moved out! Also, the site manager was this guy who was (is) the chairman of the landlord association in Fort Collins, which should tell you a lot right there... In Colorado there are no Tenant Protection Laws, only lease agreements designed to maximize profits! So, they can pretty much get away with whatever they want as long as they don't violate your civil rights, (although that doesn't stop them from trying). Also, beware of the safety issues in any low income apartment complexes... from the time we lived here, the police were regularly called upon to visit due to domestic violence, gunshots and brawls in the parking lot. If I were you... I'd steer WAY clear!
