I have lived in Governor's Park for about 8 months. I am looking forward to the end of our lease. The biggest problem that I have had (as well as others I have talked with) is that it is a cesspool of disease for my dog. He has been sick and on antibiotics basically the whole time we have lived here. There is giardia and coccidia all over the grounds and he keeps getting sick from it. Many residents don't pick up after their pets and the office always says they are going to do something about it and never do. There is dog feces all over the grounds.
In the summer, they run the sprinkler system twice a night causing a muddy moist environment. Some areas are extremely muddy and disgusting. I have even seen leeches. It should be against the law to use as much water as they do for the lawns.
The maintenance and office staff are nice. However, the office staff promises things that either never get done, or you have to ask 5 or 6 times before anything happens. They make false promises.
The apartment quality is average. The windows and doors are very drafty in the winter months. Also, I don't think they have cleaned the windows since the property was built.
They charge a non-refundable pet deposit which is fine, if they would put that money into cleaning up after peoples dogs.
