I have been a resident for four years, having lived in three different apartments there ? and have made a lot of great friends who also live here. There is such a strong sense of community, and the staff does a great job to encourage that. I've never lived anywhere else where the staff took such great interest in it's residents - the pool parties, remembering my birthday, and it's great to know that customer service is not dead.
A few years back, I left my job to start my own business from home and the first year was not exactly successful - but the staff was patient, supportive and encouraging. They worked with me and my sparatic income - helping me to steady my living situation and give me the confidence to go out and grow my business. When no one else seemed to care, they did.
As with every community, there will always be a couple of bad apples - sometimes students and other times seemingly mature adults - and they usually leave or are encouraged to leave at some point. I've had my share of obnoxious neighbors too, but have always addressed the situation in a fair and diplomatic manner, and the problem was quickly resolved.
As for the apartment noise, I've never heard anything other than what's be expected living in an apartment - plumbing, doors closing occassionally. Again, I have great neighbors who are considerate.
Maintenance at The Pier is great - a few years back while living in a basement level apartment, my hot-water heater burst, flooding my apartment. There was some serious damage to the drywall and carpets from the water ? I think most maintenance people would fix the mechanical problem and cover up the damage - but the maintenance guys came in, ripped out all the damage wood, dry wall, and carpeting, provided me with fans to dry the insulation - the staff even offered to provide a hotel room for a few days! They were so generous and helpful, I felt bad for not seeing the warning signs that the hot water heater was about to burst!
I highly recommend The Pier - but would also caution anyone who has a negative outlook to just keep looking - this is a great community tucked away in a great part of Fort Collins - close to trails and paths as well. The pricing is reasonable, the location is great and best of all - the people make it a nice place to live.

And yet another review contrived by management, but getting a bit more convincing this time.

What kind of total ----- would kiss the managements' asses like that? A complete loser with no life and no friends who has no choice but to make friends with his property "managers". Who else could stand to remain at The Pier?
