The police ought to set up their station here

I lived here 2004-2005 in a single bedroom unit. It was capacious, cheap, and had a great view of the foot hills. However, the units are starting to get run down. The carpets are in bad shape. The water tastes bad. The walls are thin. The cabinets are falling apart. The grounds are in rough shape--lots of evidence of dogs. But there is a nice park nearby. When I moved out, the manager subtracted $40 from my deposit for a missing drip pan in the oven. I didn't even know there was supposed to be one, but since I didn't list it as missing when I moved in, I had to pay it. The tenants are interesting: some are just eccentric, others have weapons and meth labs in their apartments.
The police are there frequently, and they don't seem too friendly in general to the law-abiding tenants living there. One night around 10:30pm, my wife and I were sitting on lawn chairs, on the communal balcony just outside my unit. I wasn't drinking or smoking anything, just watching the stars and the headlights of cars coming down from the mountains. There were several parties going on that night, generally pretty noisy. My wife and I were holding a quiet conversation. Then two police officers show up, demand to see our IDs, and write us up warnings for being too loud. I really couldn't believe it. They did nothing about the other apartments holding loud parties with drinking and marijuana smoking. I have not been impressed by the Golden Police Department in the 5 years that I lived in Golden.
Anyway, I think there is a stigma about folks living at Fox Hill and the SW side of Golden, in general.

Prior tenant through 2006 to 2007 I lived at the Fox Hill apartments 19 months. The police were repeatedly called and most of the time I did the calling. Again, drug use and drug trafficking on the facilities. Meth addicts smoking their pipes on the outside landings, tiers. On the third floor gang affiliated tenants had guns in their possession and eventually police discovered two young female run aways living with these scary tenants. My next door neighbors, mines students, these tenants threw parties every night I could hear them throwing up in the bathroom through my bedroom walls. I called management and was told to call police, management did nothing other than to continually give them warnings. These same neighbors threw up on the outside stairs railing I accidentally discovered this as I used the stairs banister only to swipe my hand pulling it back to find throw up all over my hand!!!!disgusting!! there was throw up all over the 2nd floor landing and they repeatedly had under age teens girls at their parties. Management let these tenants live out their lease the last month they were there a gang related fight with bats broke out I called golden police! Low and behold my neighbors upstairs repeatedly beat the crap out of each other. Again,I called police it took these police officers 2 to 3 hours to finally get into their apartment because the female tenant refused to let them in! hollering obsenities at them through her living room window, finally the police forced entry at GUN POINT. I was subpeoned to court over this out landish incident. Then remember the next door neighbors that moved out? Well management moved a couple who owned to large vicious dogs which snapped at little children and this couple left these large dogs in their apartmentday in and day out which barked and barked. I complained to management and was told to call code enforcement only to be investigated for harrassment!Bizarre. All you who are facing court action against you by Fox Hill Management to collect a debt need to visit "Jeffco Action Center-Tenant/Lanlord Counseling" on the inter net. It states: "there exists in every lease a "Covenant of Quiet Enjoyment" if the rented property is so badly in need of repairs or general maintenance or if a Landlord, management does not adhere to their own lease agreement" such as Fox Hills own "Community Policies,Rental Agreement" Example: page 2 Pets: pets being a nuisance, violating noise ordinances,Example: page 4 Maintenance: emergencys like ceiling leaks, plumbing, fires, no heat during the winter management has 24 hours to correct these emergency problems or no more than 3 days. I put up with a ceiling leaking through the ceiling light fixture (fire hazard) for 2 winters. I later discovered that on the third floor many apartments could not be inhabited because the ceiling had collapsed because of black mold. Another neighbor on my floor had to move from her apartment because the ceiling in her babys room continuously leaked forming black mold. A maintenance man did eventually crawl up on our buildings roof and did patch work. This is all fine and dandy but building codes require a permit be pulled on a building before any roof is torn and replaced. Jeffco Action Center-Tenant/Landlord Counseling also states "a tenant can excercise the right to a
"Constructive Eviction" a tenant can break their lease if a Landlord is in violation of their own lease agreement. But be forwarned to document every thing take pictures, collect all police reports, document, document, document. I at last broke my lease agreement and am now being harrassed by The Fox Hill Apartments Attorneys. Hmmmm I wonder if a class action suit by prior Fox Hill Apartment Tenants against the Fox Hill apartments Management and Corporation is in order?!!!!
