Gold Apartments

I rented a 1 bedroom 1 bath, and eventually moved to a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment at the ground level, which had NO AIR CONDITIONING! My 2 bedroom had cracks, and leaks, and was a spawning ground for roaches, BLACK WIDOW SPIDERS (YES! I found 3 of THESE!) and the non-venomous wolf spiders. The maintenance was done by the manager, all by himself, the apartments were filled with chronic maintenance issues, and it was up to ONE person to take care of them. He stayed so busy it would take virtually WEEKS just for him to get with me to fix something. I lost my 300 dollar damage deposit BECAUSE of already pre-existing flaws which came with the apartment when I started renting it, but the maintenance guy (Patrick Doyle- Not exactly the brightest man alive.) completely forgot about the things we mentioned needed fixed when we received the place. I rented Apartment 214 (i think) then moved to apartment 14. This place has no balconies, and nothing special about it. The walls are thicker than most cheap apartment complexes, and noise issues are not much of an issue, however noise laws are enforced. The area crime is very low, and the facility is reasonably secure, however, ground level apartments are vulnerable to burgurlary, and did not have ANY working locking mechanisms..The parking is a huge mess when events are going on at the local park. My own vehicle was almost towed off the property, even though I LIVED THERE! During after work hours, parking can be hectic, especially if you drive a truck. I had my truck vandalized by some of the elderly folk who live there that think they should have convienent parking spots, because of their age/handicap. It's outrageous! I'm glad I moved, hell when I was moving out of the place, an elderly woman who lived above me called the police on me, because she thought I was robbing the place, and 4 Golden cops show up and detain me and harass me for MOVING OUT, and they stayed around the whole time I was there, watching me and my friends move items out of the apartment, complaining about how long it was taking us to finish up. Ridiculous! Don't rent here.
