I had a year lease at Country Club West and wished I was never in a lease to begin with. My apartment was on the bottom floor so in the summer I rarely had to turn on my Air Conditioning. As the apartments are only electric my Xcel bill was $35 a month in the summer but in the winter the bill was $200 average. The apartments are poorly insulated, as well the wind would constantly come through the windows. The walls were freezing in the winter as well as the floors. Once I saw the first bill of $200 I tried to change the temperature in my apartment. I weatherized all the windows and put plastic over all the windows and doors. So with double layered weatherization and keeping my house at 62 degrees I was able to keep the Xcel bills to $150 per month from November to March.
I had to move due to the price of the utilities. I ended up moving to South Denver and pay less in rent and utilities than I did in Greeley. I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone.

Why not just suck it up and not turn the heat on...or get some firewood for that fireplace they provide? It's easy to stay warm in the winter with blankets and another person. Clearly no one likes you enough to live with you though. I live at CCW, and have had Zero problems with Insulation...it's kind of ridiculous how good the insulation is actually...we had the AC on for an hour or so when it was around 90-95 outside, then left after turning the ac off, came back in 3 hours and it was still cool inside...silliness about the wind blowing through...and we were on the second floor!...if the insulation was so poor, it would have been pretty warm, especially with the sun shining in through our windows...and the heat rising from the vacant apartment below...but it was STILL cool...CCW is a sweet place to live, and thanks to the recession, the leases are cheap...The staff, including and especially maintenance are super nice and always ask how everything is going.
