Gateway Place Apartments

The Staff at Gateway Place Aprtments are rude and the office is hardly open during the stated office hours. They either open way late, close way early, and sometimes they do not open at all on a regular day ( not a holiday). It is over priced for what you get. Parking is horrible. It is hard to find a spot anywhere except in fornt of the office. The only way you can find a spot is if your vehicle does not move. The maintanece crew is very slow to getting to things and only fix things half way. You can never get ahold of them and the office staff and Maintence crew have very poor communication so often you have to check into the office to make sure that the maitnece crew is even aware of your problem. The walls are very thin and you can hear the people above you very well.
During the winter it is hard to keep the living room warm because of the sliding glass door. The heat excapes really bad. The fire place really does not heat up the living room either. It is more for show than for warmth. Things are not put together very well.

I disagree with you when you state that the staff is rude. I have never experienced any rudeness of any kind from them. The maintenance staff isn't the most fantastic in the world, but they are not as bad as you say they are.
The walls in these apartments are not that thin. If you live in any wood-framed structure, you will hear your upstairs neighbors.
Sliding glass doors are the source of many cold drafts in even the most extravagant, expensive homes. Get yourself a draft stopper, or take some towels, roll them up lengthwise, and place them in front of the door frame. This will eliminate about 80% of the cold draft.
You are right, though about the parking. The parking absolutely sucks and is the worst of any apartment complex I've ever seen.

Dear Anonymous,
Unfortunantly, apartment living is not for everyone. I was a bit skepticle about moving to an apartment community since this is a first time apartment event for myself. All things considered, living at Gateway Place has been a plesant experience. The neighbors are friendly and the staff competent. Of course maintenance does not magically appear at your door the moment you call a problem into the office. It may surprise you to know that the staff is continuously working on property improvements, other residents' repairs and requests and does not sit inside the office waiting exclusively for YOUR complaint. As far as the office being closed when it should be open, perhaps unexpected events occured that the management and staff had no control over, meetings, illness, family emergencies, little things that upset the apple cart. Of course, in a perfect world, this does not happen. Have you taken the time to actually go inside the office and get to know the staff? It might be a surprisingly good experience, if, in fact, you're open to that. Check out the good things Gateway has to offer, they might counter-balance the negative. As for the parking, so what if we have to parking in front of the office occasionally. The exercise is good for me...but then again, I'm just one of those people who does my best to see the good that life has to offer.
