Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
I've lived in these apartments (now named Campus Park) since December of 2008. The rent is very affordable, I only pay $395/month and this includes wireless internet (which is sort of sketchy), water, trash, and sewer. Also, the apartments are very close to UNC and the neighborhood isn't too scary. The apartment itself is...OK. It's definitely a bit dated -- old carpets, they kind of smell like a cheap motel, hideous (turquoise) bathrooms, and older appliances. The apartment is pretty quiet for the most part, I never worry about being woken up in the middle of the night or anything. The management and the office staff is easy to work with and they don't hassle you. I've been late paying my rent a few times (mostly because I procrastinate) and they've never put up a fuss over it or charged me a late fee. Parking's alright. I've had to park on the street a couple of times, late at night, but there are usually spots available (some of which are permanently occupied by derelict vehicles). The maintenance staff is GOOD. One of my appliances stopped working and it was replaced that very same day. The BIGGEST complaint I have, like another reviewer mentioned, is with the shower. Showering here is an adventure! The water temperature will fluctuate constantly, between ice cold and scalding hot -- it's actually quite dangerous. Anyways, you could definitely do worse. I'm probably moving, but only because I've got a better job and can afford to upgrade to an apartment in Denver or West Greeley.
