They made promises BEFORE we signed our lease. After 2 months we couldn't get them to fulfill those promises or the other one's they kept promising. A screen was ripped; they FINALLY come up and tear it out then never replaced it. (Various reasons but all bad for them!) The carpet had about 7 major bad patch jobs and some of the patches were patched. There were stains in the carpets. I couldn't get maintenance to do anything. Our fireplace was filthy; along with a lot of other things at move-in. 5 weeks later we finally got them to clean the fireplace only to find out it didn't work! Then it stayed taken apart for another 3 weeks. They say they are anal about water damage but we had a leak under the sink that they did nothing about. We had a ceiling leak and it took 3 days for them to 'accidentally' come up and see it. Then they did nothing. It leaked again Christmas morning. We called it right in and said we are sitting and waiting. We waited 2 hours and nothing. We ended up calling 3x to get them to figure it out and do something. On the last call we said, do not enter, (at this point we didn't want them around our property because we didn't trust them), we said we will go out for breakfast, here is the cell #, call and we will come straight back. Yes, sir! We come back and they have entered the apt!
(So you ask why did we even lease there' We had just driven in from out of State. We drove for 2 Â days, we were tired, thought we were getting the apt. they promised. It turned out to not even be clean. Pubic hairs in the tub, big brown circle stain in toilet, windows and blinds dirty, hair in the fridge and âmatterâ in the drawers, etc. And NO fireplace that I thought was supposed to be there. They redirect us to another apt forâ conveniently for themâ an additional $300 a month. We had friends waiting for 1-Â hours for us outside to sign the lease so they could help us move in. There were too many factors involved and we were frustrated.)
The maintenance man told me that they âscarfedâ parts from empty apartments because they were too cheap to buy more parts. So they obviously couldnât afford to fix my fireplace, toilet, screen, or carpets because they ran out of parts. Everything is breaking down and the place is only 3 years old.
There is dog poop everywhere, trash in the hallways and parking areas. There is a trash chute on every level in the parking garage, read: FAR AWAY!, and 95% of the time the chute is jammed, backed up and even the chute rooms, which are fairly large, are completely filled with trash. You have to pay a trash fee so most people figure if their chute is broken then why am I paying a trash fee to have to take my trash even further than this and go down however many levels to the main dumpster. The chutes are ALWAYS broken. People got fed up. It was nasty!! People would throw their trash off the higher levels to try to get it into the big dumpsters and half would miss and splat! Trash everywhere. And it would stay there for 10-days or so. This is not a one-time thing. This was happening a lot! In 9 weeks the person only vacuumed our area maybe 3x. There was dog poop in the hallways. Parking is a nightmare and move-in was whatever could be 100x worse than a nightmare!! It took us 12 hours to move in and 3 professional movers 5 hours to get us out.
I could hear the guy take a leak upstairs not to mention their dogs sounded like little elephants. I could hear them have a conversation and when they vacuumed. You could hear anyone in the immediate hall when they vacuumed, watched TV or even talked. The walls are thinner than paper!
The management and leasing lie about lying. They make promises and then say they don't remember saying that. Their favorite way to handle an issue is, 'so what is it you would like us to do about it''
After contacting, corporate and regional they sent their lawyers on us and said that since they have done everything imaginable to make our stay happy and it was obviously impossible and that they would be even nicer by letting us out of our lease! Wahoo! Except that we just made the move from out of state and didn't really have the money to move again.
Their lawyer tried the old 'you didn't do this or that per whatever paragraph of your lease'. We came back and said, not only did we do that, we did in a time frame before what was needed.' Then he says, well you didn't.. and we showed that we did. So he got a new perspective of how lousy his clientsâ integrity level was. We are out of there finally.
Check out their BBB report! If we had checked it first we would have never moved there. Go to www.bbb.com. For any apt. you are researching check the BBB. Others may have bad stuff on the BBB but the way they work is that it doesn't matter if you have a bad report but how and if you tried to resolve it. BRE properties do not handle their issues. They do not try to resolve complaints. And that in itself is the bad part. They just don't care. They want your money. They also LOVE people from out of State cause you are more stupid to their game!!! This wasn't just what we had happen to us but my daughter from out of State called and when they found out she was moving from out of State they wanted to rent right away!!
BEWARE!!!! Unless you like living in hell.

Good for you for contact BBB!!! Some of us are SICK of the way the management in the leasing offices treat tenants. If it wasn't for you writing this we may have looked into this apartment to move from another similar apartment and treatment. We'll continue to look at the reviews to help us find an apartment or just find a home when our lease is up. Thank you for doing something about it Rick and Dawn!

I am a tenants in Pinnacle DTC. The leasing office is the worst. The only reason I stay here is I am from Cal and need a place to live. There is a problem with my water heater. It is cold in Denver and I am short of hoter water. They never fix it.
