Iıve just renewed my lease with Strathmore Park Apartments for a year after an absolutely wonderful 6 months here. For lots of reasons, this is the nicest apartment I have ever rented.
The apartment itself is beautiful and spacious, with ample storage space, and when I moved in it was sparkling clean (there were even a couple rolls of paper towels and TP set out--a nice surprise and one less thing to worry about on moving day). Other amenities that Strathmore offers are many. Iım impressed with the nice little touches here that I havenıt found anywhere else (laundry on-site and hookups in units, cable lines in units, free video checkout, exercise room, pool, snow removal, daily trash pickup, free faxing, Saturday breakfasts, etc., etc., etc.), including my mountain view!
The design and layout of both the apartment and the community in general is modern and well thought out--there are many residents in the building, but I donıt feel like Iım packed in like a sardine! Additionally, the staff are all very pleasant and have been very attentive to my needs as a resident.
As a single mom, I have to add that the location is a big plus. Lafayette itself is a great place to live and has a lot to offer (great town rec center, public library, etc.). Strathmore is convenient to EVERYTHING with a shopping plaza right across the street, shops right down the road in Lafayetteıs old town, services from auto repair to urgent care very close by, and easy, hop-and-a-skip access to Boulder/Denver/Longmont via 287 and I-25. RTD and park-and-ride are also right next to Strathmore. One reviewer mentioned that Strathmore is in the middle of the ghetto. Try Hellıs Kitchen where my mom grew up, not Lafayette, Colorado!
Strathmore is also very kid-friendly with a tot lot and a private community park, as well as a public park just across the street and an elementary school adjacent. I also feel that my child is very safe and comfortable here, with well-maintained sidewalks, background checks on residents, and plenty of places on the grounds to play. My 16 month old loves visiting everyone at the clubhouse and loves the yummy cookies there!
So that this doesnıt start sounding like a completely one-sided review, like Iım a manager in disguise, or like I got paid to post this, there are some suggestions I have which would improve my living experience here: assigned car spaces/covered carports, screened-in balconies, and an online message board for residents. Also, sometimes I do see people speeding and blaring car stereos through the neighborhood, and I think some "No Speeding" or those new "Keep Kids Alive, Drive 25" signs would be helpful in that regard.
The only other criticisms I have is that there is noise heard from other apartments, but in my case, itıs minimal and not bothersome at all (but Iım on the top floor so hear no one walking above me and only some muffled voices and tv/stereo--nothing intolerable). It may be that the construction doesnıt include enough insulation for soundproofing--Iım not sure and I think that would be a difficult thing to fix. Lastly, Iıve had half a dozen solicitors come by and would like to see more no soliciting signs on the grounds, preferably multiple signs on each building.
Still, Strathmore has been a fantastic place to live and has truly surpassed all of my expectations as a resident here, so itıs a real pleasure to post this online review. Iım very happy about my decision to renew my lease and look forward to another year at Strathmore.
P.S. I have no idea why, but my apostrophes in this review have turned into what looks like foreign characters, and I can't seem to correct it!
