I moved in early in 2009 and have found that a few annoyances are becoming a problem.
Management says that the property is secure but here is what I found...the garage lightbulbs have been burned out for over a month making one of the levels VERY dark (security issue), also the Exit signs on many of the floors are dangling by their wires (security issue), a first floor entrance door has been broken for six months allowing ANYone from the street to just walk in (security issue). I approached management (and the level above them) about these issues repeatedly over the past three months and they have yet to resolve any of them. There is a way around the fan/light issue in the bathroom but you just have to be creative with some as seen on TV items. I like the coffee machine but it is often out of caffeinated coffee, cups or cocoa so it is unusable (even though we use travel mugs). The flyers regarding happy hours are nice but are handed out on a weekly basis and cause litter in the hallways.
The apartment itself is nice, I do have neighbors and have not heard a peep. The hallways do echo when people are in them but since the entire complex is still very empty (at 60% capacity), there are not many people to be making noise. Our apartment is very energy efficient so far and very well lit with natural light. The complex itself is full of young professionals or people in school and I have not experienced any pet poop issues on the grounds. Otherwise, good location, nice place but management could use a swift kick sometimes.
