Ok place to live, but not for the price

I have lived at Belmar Villas for a year. It's a nice place to live and I feel very safe here, but the price is just outrageous. We are leaving for that reason. They think they can raise the price so high because of the growing Belmar Area but it is certainly not worth the price. We are paying $650 a month for 570 Sq. Ft. (which is extremely small for two people). And it's going to be raised once our lease is up.
They also expect the residents to pay $500 for pets and a $30 monthy pet fee. What the hell am I paying for'
The first day we moved in the dining room fan stopped working and has not worked to this day. The toilet has not worked for months after getting it fixed. The thing I hate most about the apartment is the ------ kitchen. The counters are cheap and suck up anything spilled on them. They stain VERY easily and I feel my deposit going down the drain. If they're going to raise the price, they need to change out the counters.
Maintenance is extremely nice and fast. I have not had a lot of problems with noise, besides in our bathroom. (Right next to the neighbor's living room). Neighbors are fairly quiet. Always enough parking.
Don't seem to keep their promise to the refer a friend money. They claim to lose our paperwork when we come in to sign.
Overall, a good and safe place to live, been mostly happy with the place, but if you're looking for good square footage for your buck, look else ware.
