Avoid all this by not living here:

The biggest reason why I cannot recommend Parc Belmar is their lack of concern for the safety of their tenets. Both my boyfriend and I have severe allergies to paper wasp venom (often called yellow jackets in Colorado). When the exterior awnings of my apartment building became infested with the insects, especially over the deck, two attempts to get action via their website and two calls to the management office did not produce any action. We actually had to avoid out deck because the problem was so bad. Luckily, winter came killing all the bugs for us.

The next problem is the terrible construction associated with the apartment complex.
Our deck partially collapsed due to rot. The edge furthest from the building literally dropped a foot down while the edge closest remained attached to the building. It took over two months for them to hire a crew to rebuild the deck properly, in the mean time, it was propped up with a 2x8" board in the corner.

The deck wasn't the first time a solution took an overly long period of time to implement. The entire mail box for the lower apartments in the complex was vandalized when we first moved in. The Post Office refused to deliver till it was fixed, since you could apparently open it with a dime. It took Parc Belmar six weeks to get a replacement installed, all the while, they blamed the Post Office for being inflexible. So, I had to go to the post office daily to get our mail.

When we were looking at the apartments, my boyfriend and I were told the kitchen would have hard-wood floors, just like the model we were shown. When we moved in, it was linoleum in the pattern of wood.

We had to delay our move for two weeks because they couldn't keep up with the schedule. It took two weeks after we moved in to get our washer and dryer installed.
Compared to the square foot/dollar cost of recent construction available in nearby downtown Belmar, Parc Belmar is essentially a rip off. Their upgrades are all superficial, and provide nothing towards improved functionality.

There is no insulation in any of the apartments (I have access to my attic, and can see daylight and -no- insulation). The windows are very large, clear insulating glass types, but are not very air-tight and collect moisture in between the panel layers. The appliances are new, but none of them are Energy Star qualified. All the appliances are rather hard to clean due to their cheap materials. The carpet feels nice when you look around, but it does not have any durability.

And lets not forget the fire hazard. There are pine trees which touch, or almost touch every building in the complex. If there was a big fire, I can't see how it wouldn't spread between buildings easily. It's a good thing the fire dept. is just across the street. Add to the apparent inability to have someone collect leaves during the fall, it makes for a very dangerous situation.

Finally, the staff is hard to work with and unreliable. They can't seem to keep someone working there for more than three months, so you can't develop any type of relationship. And everyone who is hired seems to be incredibly mean towards current tenets. It's really interesting though, when you talk to them when a perspective tenet is around, they play oh-so-nice.
