Poor management

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
When we first moved in, the management at Cottonwood Creek was great - we really felt they took care of us. There seemed to be a change in the ranks at some point however - either that or once you're a resident you're not first priority anymore - because things gradually got worse and worse. We had neighbors beneath us who were unbelievably loud - partying all hours of the night (and I'm talking until 4 or 5 am), with their music so loud we could easily identify which song it was - and although we complained repeatedly, the manager would only give them warnings, which only had any effect for about a week or two before they resumed their old habits. Finally they were evicted for nonpayment, but if it hadn't been for that, management never would have done anything substantial about the situation.
Things got even worse. The office stopped returning our phone calls at all. My roommate's bathroom drawer broke, and they had the drawer for about a month before they returned it, despite repeated phone calls (which, of course, went unanswered). Another time, my roommate's SHOWER KNOB broke, and despite the more serious nature of this problem, they failed to answer calls, and when my roommate went down to the office to talk to them about it, they said they would be right up to fix it - only they weren't. Other calls, such as a message I left regarding the suddenly (and unexplained) change in the hours of the fitness room also went unanswered, and the complex newsletters stopped coming. The construction that was supposed to be finished 4 or 5 months ago was still going on, and our calls regarding that issue went unanswered as well.
What I think is the worst of all, however, concerns my diabetic condition. My health insurance company sent my 3-months-worth of prescriptions without letting me know - but the office didn't let me know it had arrived, either! For MORE THAN TWO WEEKS the package sat in their office, and they never called me to find out why I hadn't been down to pick it up. Even worse, the box said on it that it had to be refridgerated, but they never did, so SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS WORTH OF INSULIN SPOILED!!! When we went down to write "refused" on the box to send it back to the insurance company, my mom pointed out that it was supposed to be refridgerated, and the manager said, "Then it should have said on the box." IT DID SAY ON THE BOX, ON A BRIGHTLY COLORED STICKER. They never even looked at the box closely enough to see it! What's more, they didn't return my call from 24 hours before we went down there, either, even though I said in my message that it was very important!
When my roommate got on the management company's website to complain, the manager called the very next day to make an appointment with her - funny how they suddenly found our phone number. In the meeting, the manager pretty much blamed everything on her assistant. She took no responsibility for the problems, even though it was clear that despite her claims, she was at least partially responsible for the situation with my insulin - when we went into the office, she claimed she was "just about to call," even though it was closing time and they were already locking up. And we've seen her standing around jabbering with her assistant and the maintenance crew. Doesn't seem like she is either innocent or trying to make a difference in the situation.
Needless to say, I left that complex. If you don't care if management is communicative and efficient, then the apartments are nice; I, however, like to know that when something needs fixed or I need to talk to someone, it will get taken care of.
