Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005
in all, we were at archstone dakota ridge for about two and a half years. we actually ended up breaking our lease because we just couldn't handle it anymore. it seemed like it would be a great place...the front office staff was nice when we first moved in (though there was some confusion about our moving date which caused the apartment to not be ready when we needed it) and the apartment itself was newer than what we were coming from and clean, but as time went on, we got more and more anxious to leave this place. the tennants two floors down from us were always hanging around on the stairs and wouldn't move to let people by. they'd also have their friends over at all hours and sat on the hood of our car once. soon after they left, younger people moved in across from us who were constantly partying and had all kinds of junk on their deck (which is ironic considering that some people get notices from the front office if they leave garbage bags outside of their front door very briefly). during this time, the jefferson county sheriff vehicles were in front of our building at least once a week on various calls. parking wasn't too bad where we were, but in other places it was a nightmare. the gates hardly ever worked and when they did, we'd get calls at 3 am from random people telling us to let them in. the workout room is in pretty bad shape and, after a while, the front office staff became less and less attentive. our gas/water/trash bill doubled after they switched to a different company that they claimed was per the residents' request. they also raised our rent by about $70 a month. i know apartment life in general is like this, but don't waste the money here....you can probably find something that costs about the same elsewhere that's a lot better.
