Good for your buck compared to similar apartments

I have been renting in various states and cities for the last 6 years. Our biggest grump is the gates, which should just be removed: believe everything you hear about them.
I live in one of the apartments with the least amount of parking spots right in front and they do fill up in the evenings. However, I have never had to walk very far to the next row of spaces (unless you consider walking 100 feet MAX a hardship...).
We looked at all of the apartments in the area and found that this one was the cheapest and/or newest for the amount of square footage we got.
We love the location. There are many trails, open spaces, and maintained parks nearby which we have fully enjoyed.
Our neighbors have been quiet for the most part, although 2 of them were recently evicted so those apartments have been empty for a while.I am not sure why there seem to be cops in the complex a lot, but can only assume it has to do with noise, animals, or evictions. If you are a reliable renter who follows the rules you should have no problem.
We have had no difficulty with bugs, but then, I lived in Florida for the last two years, so bugs' Do bugs exist in Colorado' If they do, our cat ate them. And by the way,
the pet fees are too high in my opinion.
The windows and doors could have been built better, it is impossible to lock any of them without considerable pulling and tugging and use of brute force.
We have only been here for less than a year, but I will update this if my opinions change.
